When I turn on my laptop, I can't remember the password to start, can you help me?

what laptop is it? i.e toshiba laptops require two points on the motherboard to be connected as you turn on the laptop.

Turn laptop off, unplug power and battery, use a screw driver to get back plate off. Then unplug the CMOS battery. Put battery back in, turn laptop on. Turn laptop off. Plug cmos battery back in. Put battery back in and when you turn laptop back on again password should have reset :)

you can download a piece of software called ophcrack and burn it to a cd, then put the cd in when the computer turns on and it should be able to crack the password for you.

Why can't you remember the password? Did you set the password? Is it your laptop or is it stolen?

OK, if you are running Windows 7, Microsoft tightenedsecurity on it so you've got to have a password reset disk which 99% of thepeople who own laptops with windows 7 fail to do. It should be one of thefirst things you do when you buy the laptop. Otherwise, you're faced withreinstalling the Operating System or possibly doing a System Recovery.

If you're on Windows XP or Vista try this:

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on andimmediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Safe Modeoption. Select SAFE MODE and let the computer boot up. When it getsto the User Login screen it will show the Administrator userid and the useridfor which you forgot the password. Sign in as the Administrator (hopefullyyou didn't put a password on it and forgot it too). Once the desktopappears it will look different, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger,but this is normal for safe mode.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts
When the User Accounts screen opens, click on the userid for which you forgotthe password. Select the option to REMOVE PASSWORD.

Reboot your machine.

Reboot your computer in safe mode. Then, click run, start, and key-in "control userpasswords2", Next, click reset password and change the password and confirm. Reboot and your ready to go.

try pressing esc. two times.
Or type admin for username or admin for password. Or try password for password.

You have to contact acer and possibly send the laptop to their service center.

Remove the battery . Short the grounding strips made for this purpose on the mother board,or the battery terminals,if you can't find the strips.  Reinsert the battery and the pass word will be gone. 

There are two places when you may be asked for a password - can you please clarify which one it is.

1. The BIOS password which will ask you for a password BEFORE you see the Windows loading screen
2. The Windows password, which will ask you for the password after the computer has started, but before you can see your desktop.

There is a reasonably easy solution for both of these.
