Question about Hitachi 36CX39B 36" TV

2 Answers

TV out hey i own a Panasonic and two apex tv's in my apartment (living room panasonic) (1&2 bd rm apex's tv). Well recently like few weeks back my family and i went out to eat dinner and came back in the afternoon and when i got home i tried turn the tv on and the tv was not responding at all. I tried also messing with the breaker and that was ok and everything. Then i went into the 2 bd rm to check and see if the problem was with just the first tv in the living rm and the bd rm tv (apex brand) also did not turn on. Usually both these tv's have a red light on at all times when the tv's are turned off. So then i went to my bd rm to check on the 3rd tv (apex brand) and this tv actually turned on with no problems. The first tv (panasonic) is pluged in with an extention cord since i have tv and playstation pluged into cheap extention cord and then that plugs into the wall. The 2nd tv is plugged into the wall directly with no surge protectors. Also the 3rd tv is plugged into a surge protector. Now one thing i showed mention is that i live in texas and at times it rain like crazy and at times it rains in one area and not another area. But this particular day i dont remember if it rained or any lightning action took place or not. I was hoping to see if you have any suggesttion. The tv's are about 6-7 yr old. But i would like to save any money possible and try and fix it my self if possible. I was hoping to get any recommendations on testing some things inside the tv first.

Re: TV out

Since you have the red light power indicator. you don't have problem with the power supply section.
you need to check the horizontal section only

horizontal driver - silicon transistor
horizontal output - carbon type transistor

Re: TV out

If you are a tech person please check 1 power supply output voltage is ok. 2 if it is ok check for horizontal section. `generally tv goes defective due to moisture specially in rainy season. problem is not much serious. good luck

Where do I find the access code?

Hi Chanel, your best bet is to call the people who installed the system and get them to give you support in this matter. The access code is probably something they are aware of that may be specific to your set up.

It's not a flat panel but actually an older small Panasonic TV. This has only started in the last few weeks. It was "updated" by Comcast and didn't immediately show this black line. There...

CERTIFIED TV EXPERT HERE, follow this information I provided 3 long solutions to this issue/s Solution 1 Before we start taking things apart, lets try your simple remove power plug routine and power system back up. Also, please try your unit on a few different channels to see if your problem continues on each channel. Your Main Board, Power Board, T-Control Board are suspected problems at this time. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, the unit should power down by itself after you have powered it on. If it does not, then do not be concerned. Let me know if the problem continues. The first link below will bring you directly to the troubleshooting guide if you need to continue forward with the same error. Additional information Failed TV and Monitors: Parts: 2 Lets focus on the external portion of the TV set first (95 percent of all TV problems are related to things EXTERNAL To the tv itself) Check the physical CONNECTION of all cables by removing each wire bare or RCA and reinstalling it (Each power cable as well), once you have removed one cable, check it for fraying, and if it is already bare, splice a new fresh connection for it. 5. Check to make sure there are NO OTHER uneeded radios, system nearby. these systems, when powered on, will cause electromagnetic interference and prevent more than just severe tv interference SURGE PROTECTOR Surge protectors account for more than 75 percent of electric faults to stereo equipment. Lets start with your AC Wall outlet. It is standard in america that 220 Volts from out of these outlets. This implies that each device will be using 220 Volts (From within that grid zone). If anything including an alarm clock is plugged into any AC outlet socket in the vicinity of the stereo equipment/TV, it will cause electric outage, and prevent electronics from even turning on! Your TV needs dedicated electric power. If your TV is located in the living room then unplug everything else in the living room. Lets plug the TV set into a Dedicated socket. Check all light switches to ensure that power is on for that outlet. Check the TV cable for Fraying both on the ac wall end and where it plugs into the TV. Check all GFCI outlets to ensure that all red reset buttons are pushed in, check the circuit breakers for proper connection and they are turned on. Now, lets try the TV set without it connected to any cable services, vcr, dvd, stereo system, etc. Please respond if we have found a solution. 3 When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me

Panasonic CT-27D12D turning off on it's own

it sounds like a DRY SOLDER somewherein the PC board where the POWER SUPPLY located , I suggest , if your HANDY with this procedure, Im sure you can get it fix , FIRST lets remove the back cover to get inside the TV ( if TV was recently turn ON , you need to unplug it and wait till the next day to do procedure , cause the picture tube acts like a BIG capacitor reserving electricity, cause we goona need to remove that big RED round rubber plug to the tube ) . to make it short , you need to remove the PC BOARD and look for any dry solder , and resolder it ,that will take care of this problem
