Look where the game card goes called (slot a) see if the pins are bent or crossed over themselves need good eyes and a torch if so you need to replace the slot a or see if you can clean the pins in the game card with a very stiff pig bristle brush (small school paint brush but cut the bristles to about 5 mm and use it like a scrubbing brush not across but lengthwise) then with it turned on insert the game in and out a few times slowly to see if it worked sometimes the get bad contact with the pins and the card Hope this helps

The best method to remove any foreign objects is to tap DS slowly holding upside down. If it does not work...
Try looking into the Slot, put it an angle or use a flash light to see if the pins are bent. 95% of the time this is the case. If you observed that the pins are bent, you will have to see it very closely, then you need a slot replacement. I found there is no work around to this, if you try to insert some kind of brush to clean, it will further damage the slot and you risk blowing the fuse next time you try to check with the card inserted.
The replacement card slot itself is $5-7 on eBay but If you are not very good at soldering, I mean VERY GOOD do not attempt to replace the slot. There are lot of cheap repair services that take care of this problem on eBay or online.

Action replay doesnt play

try taking out the action replay and give it a good blow where the contacts are, also give the ds a good blow where the cartridge goes, thats either the problem or you may have updated the ds to the latest firmware and this does cause problems with action replace and r4 cards so that might be your problem, if you had another ds or no anyone with another ds then try the card in theirs, that way you can make sure the card works

Action replay

Have you tried inserting the game while the DS was off? I too find that the Action Replay doesn't recognize when you insert a game while the AR and DS is on. So you may just need to turn off your DS, insert the game, and then turn on your DS and activate the codes

Code insert buttons

Have you tried just using the Normal DS buttons rather than the touch screen? I don't know how bad your touch screen is calibration is for your AR (mines pretty close to fine), but if you find that the touch-screen is frustrating you too much, just use the normal DS buttons. Sure it will be a bit slower, but it won't be as frustrating.

Action Replay; problem starting

You need to reset the AR, just hold down A, B, select, and start when poering it on, hold them down until the "not liscenced" screen shows up. This will flash the memory on the AR and you will need to re-enter codes though

Action replay problems

Try resetting the hardware by following these steps: 1/ With the console powered off, hold A+B.
2/ Power up the console while still holding A+B.
3/ As soon as the Nintendo screen is displayed, before our screen stating this product is not endorsed by Nintendo, press and hold Start and Select while keeping hold of A+B.
4/ Continue to hold these buttons until the Main Action Replay screen is displayed, then release. Your product is reset, and will accept codes once more.
I do not have credit. these instructions were from codejunkies.com (creators of AR). then try uploading them on the computor.
