Hi,
check with the BIOS settings about the Primary and secondary hard disk. Select the bootable Hard disk as Primary by changing the Jumper settings. Make the other harddisk as secondary by changing the jumper setting as said on the label of harddisk. Now you try to boot, your problem will be solved.

Pc is not detecting maxtor 3100 200 gb drive

This is very comon at times as i have also confronted with such issue on pc's having Maxtor as external drive. Here we have two things to check and understand.

1) Is the Bios Detecting this hardware. Or is it that the basic Motherboard itself is not accepting the HDD.

2) The version of OS you are running and if the pug and play is able to detect the Hardware as the second stage of detection.

Do you see any hardware detection notification when you connect the HDD or when you Start running the HDD ?

I would like you to check these which will give you a clear picture of the issue.

Else please write back.. I would like to know th OS version which you are using. The Hardware on which the HDD is connected. Motherboard Specs, and also the messages or notifcations that you might be getting while trying to connect the Hard Disk. Good Luck.

MB P21G V3.1 Cannot use USB port (with USB flash drive)

You, probably have what is quite a common problem. Your system cannot recognize the USB, because, either your USB requires a USB 2.0 input or vice versa. Most moedern MB's have either both kinds or they work with regular USB. It might take you some time, or if you the manual, it will take you no time to be up and running. Personally I like the PCCHIPS. They make a good product, they have the currency exchange on their side and here in the US, they provide us with a good and reliable product. Let me know how you make out. This is the way I get graded...

Troubling in sata connection

  • I suppose there is a jumper(beside the power pin) on your new HDD,
  • if its true the your HDD supports 3GB/s mode but your motherboard does not .
  • So place the jumper on the HDD on 1.5GB/s combination.
then
  • Disconnect the 80 GB,
  • Connect the new HDD,
  • Boot from any bootable xp or vista or any disk tool like erd commander and try to format the new HDD.
  • Then connect the new HDD and boot from it.
Tell me what happened.
