Question about Samsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Saving settings in service menu

How can you save the manual convergence settings for each input type as the defaults? I am able to enter service mode, put some time into the convergence to get it right and exit the menu. However if I reenter the menu the convergence is not like how I left it, it is back to being as bad as before I started. I'm not turning the TV off between going into the menu or changing inputs or signal type. The "enter" button on the remote is supposed to save any settings while inside the service menu, but this doesn't appear to work. The samsung auto convergence is the worst thing I've ever seen on a TV. Why they didn't put a decent manual self focus on this TV is beyond me. If I could get the convergence settings to save for each signal type this TV will last for a few more years.

Hi, I have a similar problem too on the SP47Q7HF. That one the lower level to match the red, and blue. Turn off the tv, and then restart, and still the colour runs off. Do you have a manual on the service mode adjustment? Or where to upload this info? I would like to try and adjust it. Thks

My memory cannot remember my user/passwords

Popular Web browsers have features that allow them to remember passwords so you don't have to constantly enter login information on the websites you visit.
If your browser does not automatically ask if you would like to save the passwords you type, you can quickly turn the feature on and begin saving your information.

Open Internet Explorer, and click "Tools."
Click "Internet Options," and then select the "Content" tab.
Click "Settings" under the "AutoComplete" heading.
Locate the box that says "User names and passwords on forms" and click the box to check it. If you want Internet Explorer to ask your permission before saving a password you type, check the box next to "Ask me before saving passwords."
Click "OK," and then click "OK" again.
Mozilla Firefox
Navigate to the login page of the site you want to save a password for, and enter your password.
Click "Remember" when Firefox asks you if you want the password to be remembered.
Turn the Password Manager on if you are not prompted to save the passwords that you enter.
This feature is turned on by default, but if it has been disabled you can enable it.
Click "Tools," "Options" and "Security," and then check the box next to "Remember passwords for sites."
Apple Safari
Open a browser window, and select "Safari" from the menu bar.
Click "Preferences," and then click 'Autofill."
Check the box next to "Usernames and passwords."
Your passwords should be saved from now on.

"Perfect Focus" problem on Samsung HCN4727W

You have a bad sensor, a bad digital convergence board, or the new board is not working correctly. I would start by swaping out the convergence board or exchange it for another one. Good Luck

Mitsubishi VS-50803 Big Screen TV - Trying to hook up an HDTV cable box, I was told to hit: menu, 1, 3, 7, 0 - to get to the service menu and switch DTV over to HD and that would solve my no signal...

First please confirm actual model number on rear of set.

Something is not right here, I am looking at Mitsubishi material downloaded in my computer; shows all codes for sets up to 2004. VS-50803 is a VZ6 Chassis made in 1998 and I doubt it is HD set, if it is one of the early ones it will have beneath the HD input vert sync and Horz sync---those required a special box from Mitsubishi etc.

Set has 3 hidden menus:
1. Option menu (for hard reset)= Menu 1,3,7,0 enter
2. Circuit adjust menu= Menu 2,3,5,7 enter
3. Convergence adjust menu= Menu, 2,3,5,9,enter (#4,5,6 on remote then change modes)

Does the DTV input have the two vert, horz jacks as well?

First is the Option menu is really only for a hard reset of the entire set, if you engaged it you may have de-converged the set.

The adjust menu is for height, width etc

The convergence menu is for convergence.

If you did something and did not save it, unplugging set should put it back to before what you did.

In the OPTION MENU WHAT DID YOU SELECT AND DID YOU HIT ENTER WHEN YOU FINISHED?

We can set the convergences great but after about 10 to 15 minutes ithe reds lines start moving a little again will not stay in position. It's a widescreen Mitsubishi rear projection tv ws-55857.

The problem - you're setting the convergence settings, but you're not saving them, you're
simply exiting the menu screen. Be sure to save your convergence setting for each
of the three colors. It sounds like you're setting RED last, and not saving its convergence setting,
whereas the GREEN & BLUE are holding their convergence settings, since you're saving them
correctly before proceeding on to RED....

When you want to set the auto clock function to “OFF”,

from the list.

Auto clock setting
Preparation:
You must connect the antenna or cable before connecting
the AC cord to the power source.

feature to activate.
After the clock is set automatically, you may have to set
the time zone and daylight saving time. (See page 26.)
Press STANDBY/ON to turn on the DVD/VCR after the
auto clock operation completed.
• When shipped from the factory, the “AUTO CLOCK”
option is set to “ON” position.

the list below.
Selectable time zones and correction times
ATLANTIC: GMT – 4 hours
(GMT: Greenwich Mean Time)
EASTERN: GMT – 5 hours

set to “AUTOMATIC”.
• After making the auto clock setting, in some cases
the clock may display another time zone. You can
correct the clock by selecting your time zone
setting above.
• When the clock is not set or you set the clock
manually, the time zone setting is not available.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
You can set the clock to daylight saving time automatically
or manually.
To select daylight saving time, select “DAYLIGHT
SAVING TIME” and select “ON”, while to cancel the
daylight saving time, select “OFF”.
ON: For manual setting (forward 1 hour)
OFF: For manual setting (back 1 hour)
AUTOMATIC: For automatic setting (read XDS in
the signal)
Note
• When you want to set daylight saving time, on the
first Sunday in April you set it to “ON”, and on the
last Sunday in October you set it to “OFF”.
• When shipped from the factory, the “DAYLIGHT
SAVING TIME” option is set to “AUTOMATIC”.
• When the clock is not set, the daylight saving time
setting is not available.
• When there is no daylight saving time in your area,
always select “OFF”.

Convergence problem/

To enter the service menu.

1. Changing the input to an unused input (i.e. Ant B). Turn off the set and wait for the fan to turn off.

2. Hold input and power buttons on set down simultaneously. When service menu appears, release both buttons (input button first).

Note any settings before you change them. I haven't challenged it but I have read online in the forums that entering the service menu may void your warranty. Service manuals are available online at ebay.
