I have a brother MFC 5490 CN printer, and I'm getting a Print Unable 36 error. I have checked thoroughly and no pare jammed. I have followed the online instructions and I have managed to print 2 copies then again continued to get the Print Unable 36 error.

SOURCE: Problem with my printer Brother MFC-240C "Print unable 4F"

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart,
try this step by step.without missing any thing. thanks

SOURCE: brother MFC-465CN printer Error code 51 unable to print

Usually this is caused by a foreign object or debris under the printhead path, or under where the printhead "parks."

Unplug the machine. Open the cover. Check the printhead path for little bits of paper, push pins, paperclips, staples etc. Note the location of the printhead.

If the printhead is at the far left, gently slide it towards the center (do not force it). Look carefully under where the printhead was stopped for debris. Use a flashlight if necessary.

Close the cover. Plug in the unit. Try again.

SOURCE: Brother MFC-6490CW printer error unable to print

Any of the 30 series errors say that the carriage is not free to move from side to side across the paper. You need to look close on each side of the machine where the carriage travels to see if there's a paper scrap stopping it. Also the encoder strip could be out of the slot in the carriage assembly. If all is OK you need a shop repair to determine if the logic or carriage pcb's are OK.

Hi there
With some Brother printers you can try this.

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, and then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

Some times this happens because of using cheap compatible ink cartridges if this is the case change the ink cartridges.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

My printer Brother DCP 145C doesn't want to print. It takes the paper and then stops. It displays message: Print Unable 36.

Check for a paper jam. I just encountered this same error on my Brother MFC-290C, and that was the cause. I had to unplug the printer's power cable to clear the error message.

Multi-Function Center MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer: i get the message "print unable 36" displayed on m...

Error code 36 is generally because of a paper jam that was not cleared. Remove the rear jam cover (the plastic cover in the back center of the machine)and the paper tray and check for any pieces of paper. Sometimes just a scrap will remain, but it's enough to cause the machine to not work.

Once you've replaced the covers, if the jam code does not reset, turn the machine off and then back on.

Print unable 36 error

Hello,

The 36 error mean: The machine does not work due to a paper jam. Clear the paper jam, if doesn't work maybe a sensor is dirt or bad. To disassambly the printer you need the service manual and some know how ( electronics knowledge).

All the best !

Print Unable 50 Brother MFC5460 CN

So dont let me be a withness of murderer:
There is no paper sicking within the machine! The jam had lifted the encoder strip out of the ph. After you have fixed it simppy stick some very thin scotch tape onto the ph cover to avoid further liftings (that will happen quite often...)
