Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes to reset the TV.

99 means that the TV is entered in service mode.

In service mode you can cause damage to the TV if you do not know what your doing (Read the SERVICE MODE WARNING)

If you have caused the condition by randomly touching buttons , then you have simply entered in service mode.

In that case turn off the power, and unplug power cord, to quit the service mode or enter 0, 0 (zero twice).

If the TV did this on its own, or if service mode keeps popping up on its own, then usually Digital board (main board) is faulty. In this case call a technician ringing the phone number on the user manual.

If instead you are asking me how to proceed in service mode to fix a problem, after having started service model intentionally, then check the instruction on this page to find service mode commands and instructions.

Sony nsx-40gt1 doesn't turn on and red light

The 2 blink error for this model is letting you know that you have a standby power voltage problem. 99% of the time it is your power board. If you bought this set with in the last year, you are still covered under warranty. I would call Sony or a Service provider to get your unit fixed at no charge to you.

Service code 51,52,53,54,55,99

The Sony will turn off or won't startup !!

Code : 51 ... 52 ... 53 ... 54 ... 55 indicate to the group of fans on the back side.
When recieving all numbers 51 til 55 means that NONE ofn the fans are functional.

result of this four codes will be that Code 99 show up , and turn off your sony.

Findout what corses the problem with the fans and code 99 will removed allso.

SONY - PFM-500A2WE 16:9 42-inch Plasma fault 22-12

According to the Sony Service Manual for the PFM-500A3WU, 12 22 means either the Plasma Panel has failed or the Power Supply has failed. 12 means "warning decrease of panel high voltage" and 22 means "warning of decrease of middle panel voltage".ve had a look on other forums and someone as narrowed the 12/22 code down to the (ic102) its only outputing 5volts its something to do with the (b+ power supply)

My monitor fails to start and the power pack shows 12-22 repeatedly

Howdy, I guess you're talkin' about a : Sony PFM-500A2W Plasma screen ?? The fault-codes your talkin'about " 12/22 " + continue re-starting " is a common problem with those plasma screens. It gives an " low power " message on the PDP module . We started today a discussion-group at to get a clear picture at the Sony. We allso placed a " fault-code " list , so users can see what those codes are standing for. The main target of the discussion-group is ..... sharing knowlegde and information about the Sony PFM-500A2W. Schematics Problem solving fault finding Where to get any kind of parts. Print layouts etc. etc. The followin' link shows the discussion group. Please give us some time to startup the group. So don't give up any hope ;-) Best regards , EuroNet 2000 The Netherlands
