My TV is acting up!!!

It started today that the television will go up (to the max) or to the lowest volume level without touching the remote. Also it will not turn off when this happens. I tried unpluggin it for a while but it still did the same.

My Toshiba tv is doing the exact same thing with the volume going louder (to 100) and softer (to 0) on its own. Also the screen display for the volume stays on and then I can't turn the tv off or change chanels or change the volume until it decides to go off on its own. I have unplugged the tv for several days to try to reset it as recommended by the Toshiba rep and that worked for a short while as long as I unplugged the tv every night, but now that doesn't work any more. What did "My tv's acting up" do to fix his problem?

Change the batteries in your remote, this is a common issue with batteries that are low on charge.
Also if you find that your TV intermitently changes channels and no one is even touching the remotethis is the same problem.

Seems like some type of control board problem. Remote will not work on tv, but works other devices. Manual controls are squirelly. Cannot change inputs. Can move to other inputs on menu but when I hit...

Thats a bad button on the front keypad of the tv . The remote does not work because the tv micro sees a button pressed all the time and never listens to the IR reciever . If you pull the front speaker grill off you will find connector ZF just below the keypad or just inside the access panel. If you do remove that panel don't touch anything else.Just follow the wires down from the keypad to connector ZF. Connector ZF is inline with the wires to the front keypad. Unplug it . Then remote will work like normal. Use it like that or have the front keypad buttons replaced.

I have a Vizio 42' and a cable box and there's a constant humming

I think I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it.

I have my vizio 42 hooked up to a Harmon Kardon surround sound, and the digital cable box. Essentially, I can adjust the volume 3 ways - through the tv, cable box or av receiver. The humming sound happens when you have the volume maxed out on the av receiver and not the cable box.

For example, the sound level on my Harmon Kardon goes from -10 (lowest) to 10 (loudest), with 0 being the middle ground. The buzzing was happening when the Harmon Kardon was set to 10, and I was using the cable box volume to adjust the sound. To fix it, I turned down the volume on my receiver to 0, which may be about 50% max volume of the receiver. Then, I switched devices and used the volume on my cable box. This got rid of the static I was getting. Hope that helps.

Tv ws-65511 volume stuck

Did you ever get this problem fixed? Ours just started doing the same thing. It worked fine the night before, but today it's doing what yours is doing. The remote stopped working for the TV. The remote still works for the cable box, but volume and anything related to TV function not. The screen flashes when we try to adjust volume or anything else, but resets to previous volume. TV not responding to any commands either on the front panel or remote.
Any ideas? Thanks, Patti

LG Volume to 100 by Itself - will NOT respond to remote

It's hard to diagnose without a model, but, given the problem I would say it is a 42LC7.
If it is, then, it needs a modification in the main PCB. We used to jumper coils at first, now we have to change the main PCB.
It's less than a year old, it's under warranty.

Volume increases to max, screen blinks, remote becomes useless

All I can offer as help is to disconnect the TV from the mains power completely and go away and leave it for an hour or so or even overnight. Then plug it back in and possibly it will behave itself again. BMW
