Question about Bose SoundDock Digital Music System for Apple iPod - White

BOSE PORTABLE SOUNDDOCK BATTERY SEEMS DEAD AFTER 4 MONTHS

My Bose Sounddock (Portable) seems to have a dead battery, but the the system was bought new 4 months ago and has only been used about 6 times - and only for a few hours at a time. The obvious answer is a faulty battery. The system immediately shuts down when I disconnect AC power and the yellow charge light only stays on for 5 secs when I power it up then goes out - I thought it was supposed to stay on when charging? I tried leaving it connected for about 6 hours to get some re-charge but nothing changed. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and was able to solve it? I've tried removing and re-attaching the battery but no difference.

I have the same exact problem...I'm not too happy that after only a few months the battery will not hold a charge.

SOURCE: Bose Sounddock Volume Control Problems

Well, there really was nothing to it.
I let it dry out for the rest of the day and it went back to normal, thankfully.

SOURCE: BOSE SOUNDOCK CONNECTRO BROKE

You can't - the repair needs to be done centrally as the company would be at risk if it sold electrical parts to people who aren't qualified to repair such items. Therefore you need to call Bose and have this repaired, however it's quite a common fault so shouldn't cost too much.

Guys - she has the protable!! Hi Fiona, the best bet is to visit www.invebo.com and check the SounDock Portable diagnostic video. (Repair video is there too) Remove the battery and plug the power in., If you get a beep-beep sound then the unit has power and is booting up so you need a docking connector replacement kit. . If there is no beep beep then it is the power supply or the main unit. (Try a different power supply) . If it works normally then it is the battery - get a new battery. Hope that helps.

Bose sound dock doesn't work at all

If this is the original SoundDock, the power supply in back is 4 pronged and a pin could be broken. If it makes a quiet thumping sound, then just make sure the power supply is not plugged in upside down (it's easy enough to do).
If this is the SoundDock II or the SoundDock portable, it's hard to say why this would happen, so you should call Bose on that one. There should be an indicator light that tells you when it has power..

When i plug in my sound docking station it makes a knocking sound

The only 2 possibilities are: 1. The power supply IS bad and needs to be replaced. (not the cord, but the supply itself) 2. The 4-prong power supply plug at the back of the SoundDock isn't connecting properly (try flipping it upside down, or making sure "DC power" is written on top if it's a later version.)
If this is the SoundDock Portable or SoundDock II, then the problem is definitely the supply.
Bose can send a new supply for $50+, or repair a non-warrantied SoundDock for $99.

Does the new bose dock station charge the new ipod touch (32g)?

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.
