Well here's a probem indeed. If you did infact buy an SD Card i believe it should work. But if you bought an SDHC, your camera might not support it. I know my camera i bought a couple years ago can not support SDHC cards. They look the same, but they transfer data much faster. Let me know if that is not the case. chris173@gmail.com

Unsupported card

Make sure you're using an SD card, 2GB and smaller. The M407 won't work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

When i'm trying to import a video, an error pops up and it cancels the importing. What to do?

Try using a separate card reader and import the video to a folder you create on your desktop.

How do i unlock card

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Card is unformatted

If you have the HP M407, the maximum capacity sd card it can use is a 1gb. I had the same problem and a 1gb card solved the problem. Hope this helps.

Unsupported card

The first thing you will have to check the card. There is slot on the card that contains a switch. This will lock the card so that it is write-protected. This will cause the unsupported card error.

If the card looks fine, try a card reader just to confirm that the card has not been corrupted.

If the card is functional and you can read its contents from the PC or another SD-slot device, then the issue is your camera. The slot contains thin copper prongs that comes in contact the copper surface on the back of the SD card. If the prongs are bent or damage, then the camera cannot read your card.

I have fixed this before. So if you details instructions, contact me.

CAMERA IS NOT FLASHING

The camera is recharging the flash. (possible cause)

Solution: It takes longer to charge the flash when the battery is low. If you see this message alot, you may need to replace or recharge the battery. Hope this helps!

Won't read sd card - says card not suppoorted

Did you try putting the card in the camera, and using the camera's "format" card option?(Make sure there is nothing on the the card-a format will delete it.) Often times, a digital camera requires a format of the card so the proper file/directory structure can be created. If the card is empty, you have nothing to lose.
