Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

Hi yes i have a blackberry pearl (the newest model) and when i was taking it out of my pocket i noticed the screen was frozen and i couldn't move the "pearl" or use any of the key functions so i thought it may just be acting up so i then went to simply take out the battery, wait 1 & 1/2 min and put it back in but when i put it back in the only thing that comes up on the screen is a message saying "JVM Error 547 Flash write failed", "scroll and click to reset" and i press the reset button and the same thing keeps happening. Hoping you can resolve my problem thanks guys appreciate it.

The only thing you can do is download & reload the most current firmware to the phone. If you haven't backed up your phone you will have probably lost your information. You can find info on downloading the device software here.

Handset shows no display. Our blackberry pearl handset 8120 has stopped displaying anything after it was accidentally dropped from the pocket.

is it new?, if it is take it send it back to blackberry and get them to fit it for a small fee, or if it is old find a way to open the cover and check for damages in: the circuit board, any wiring and the screen (back and front).

Blackberry Pearl wont turn on....

Try taking the battery out for a minute then putting it back in and see if it will turn on. Otherwise the display may be broken, did it get dropped?

More than likely the LCD screen on your Blackberry pearl 8120 is damaged.

Taking apart and replacing the LCD screen on a Blackberry Pearl is nottoo difficult and you can buy the replacement screens on eBay for under20 dollars shipped. Check out the the ones available on Ebay by following the link below.

My blackberry pearl flip got wet

Sorry to tell you but the back light on your blackberry pearl probably burnt out. That is one of the most common issues with a wet phone.

You can find blackberry flip 8230 and 8230 LCD screen replacements on ebay. Took a while but they are available now.

They are a little tricky to replace but not to hard.

Checkout the guide I wrote for replacing the blackberry flip LCD displayscreen. There are also links to by the new pearl flip LCD screens2.gif

Can i use my blackberry pearl to connect my pocket pc to the net?

Yes on both issues which seem different to me.

1) To connect your blackberry to your IPAQ for Internet requires finding a means to connection share between them. That means having a computer as an intermediary since IPAQ only uses Activesync. Connect the blackberry to the computer and setup the blackberry as a modem. Then setup activesync to share Internet to the IPAQ.

2) Your blackberry will not play video if it is in certain formats, you need to convert it. Streaming sites like youtube do work, but only if you have sufficient bandwitdth. Blackberry's prefer 3GP format.

For the initial issue, attempt a hard reset on the device: remove the battery from the BlackBerry while the device is still powered on. Leave it out for 30 seconds, then reinsert.
