My MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.1 won't read my Lexar Professional 800x 8 GB Compact Flash UDMA 7.

You can try using a file recovery software like Bad Copy Pro 4.10.125. It works well for me.

Archos AV700 I/O Error

Offhand, I would suspect that the remaining files were somehow corrupted. Is it possible for you to verify those files using the external HD and a PC?

Either that or the format of the Archos AV700 was not that "clean" and would require a redo.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

An error mesage makes the computer user aware of functionality possible have compromised the computer systems regular operationalities. For example, the computer expected to be manipolated as requested by the feature manual. A forceful shut down of the computer by pressing firmly on the shutdown button or pulling a plug may cause the computer to display an error message because of an abropt cut in processing requirements. Working with files for example may require to save in appropaiet area on the computer. A data saved at an alternate location that was disconnected liek a disk drive may display error whenever attempting to access an unavailable port area.

Copied files to a folder on portable harddrive

1. Try creating another folder and coping the content from the original to the new folder on the USB drive.
You may have stopped the coping process inadvertently during the copy process.

Error Copying old c: drive w/Ghost 9

Do a disk defrag on the source drive. If that doesn't work, you may have a virus on your source drive and norton ghost is catching before getting on your destination drive.

Some OS files not coping

your CD Rom drives could be dirty if if they are not copying files from the CD's correctly. tipically while installing an OS the CD's are moving alot of data very fast and can encounter errors if drives are dusty or dirty or even if the cd's have small scratches or smudges.
I recommend a CD/DVD drive cleaner disk, or fresh copies of your CD's.
You May also have to replace your drives, you can buy replacements fairly cheap from online retailers such as or on auction sites.

When i insert quickbooks cd and click install it says error need to install flash 7 macromedia.

Depending on the version of QuickBooks you are installing, it may require the flash player for some of it's help functions. Typically, the flash player the program requires is included on the cd.
There can be instances where you already have a later version, but the program is not reognizing it. This may indicate that the Flash registry entries are not in the Windows registry properly, and the Macromedia Flash needs to be reinstalled.
If you have already installed the program once, and the Flash installed, you may get an error message about needing to install, or that it cannot install the files named ************. In this case, you may try ignoring through the message.
If worst comes to worst, explore the cd, copy the Qbooks folder to your desktop. Inside the folder, you will find the Install file and the installation should go through.
