No dryers are not self leveled. You may not have put the legs on ? they come in the box or if you have then you need to prop them up with a 1x4 or something.

The start button is flashing red and beeping and the drying cycle won't start. Help!

  • If the machine shakes or makes a lot of noise, make sure the dryer is level. Some shaking is normal, but it shouldn't bounce around like it's itching to go somewhere. Adjust the leveling legs. They just screw and unscrew. Check to make sure the load inside the dryer is properly distributed and is not all clumped together.
  • Match the control settings to the type of load, and make sure you're not overloading the dryer.
  • Check that the ducts aren't blocked if the clothes take too long to dry. Look for lint or missing socks. Check to make sure the ducting isn't kinked, and make sure the outside dryer vent flap moves freely and isn't blocked---by snow, for example.
  • Sort your clothes by weight if they aren't drying properly. Lightweight clothes should be dried separately from items like comforters.
  • Make sure the lint drawer is empty.
  • Press the "Stop" button or press the "Lock" button for three seconds if the controls don't work. Press the "Power" button to wake the dryer up if it won't start. Make sure the "Delay Start" button isn't flashing if the machine fails to start. Press "Start" again.
  • If you see only lights displayed on the screen and no numbers, it's normal. The dryer has detected a low level of moisture. Other normal behavior is when the time remaining jumps to a lower number---it's revising its estimated time remaining. When you can't make a selection and the dryer beeps twice, the dryness setting is incompatible with the chosen dry cycle hope this helps please tell me if it does

When it rotates it gives metal banging sound what is the reason?

Hi,

Make sure dryer is level on the floor, and that nothing is leaning against the dryer.
Make sure nothing is loose inside the drum. Check all exposed screws, and make sure they are tight.

Check for foreign objects in the drum. (Coins, buttons and zippers will make a rattling sound as they roll around in the drum)

Good Luck and have a nice day

Makes a humming nose when you press start

Hi,

Gas Dryers may produce buzz when the solenoid opens. The valve clicks at the start of the heat cycle, start of ignition and when the burner turns off. The flame makes a low roaring sound.

Strange rattle when microwaving

Chances are the blade assembly has come loose on the shaft of the internal cooling fan.

This can be solved with a couple of drops of super glue at the spot where the blade and shaft meet, then allow it to dry for several minutes.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you'll see the cooling fan.

Please let us know what you find.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Kenmore Dryer makes Noise Model 86671100

Very few of the tubs are true to round. You stated it has made the sound since you've owned it. Observe and listen to see if you can determine the closet area to the noise. Usually moveable parts get louder over time. Your problem could be a number of things. I would start by adjusting the bottom leveling feet and be sure it is level front to back as well as left to right. Other items could be drum seal gasket bearing, rear felt seal, rear drum support roller, belt tension pulley, blower wheel, blower wheel housing, front drum glide bearing, shaft drum support roller, bracket for drum support roller, front ring bearing kit, pully on the motor, or even lose cabinet housing bolts.
