Question about Fujitsu fi-5650C Path-Through Scanner

1 Answer

Windows can't find driver for FI-5660C

When I plug the FI-5450C scanner's USB cable to my Windows XP PC, Windows recognizes the new device but can't find the device driver to install. I installed the most recent TWAIN driver and followed all the instructions in the installation guide, including rebooting. It should be noted that I am successfully using a Fujitsu FI-5120C on the same PC.

THE PROPER WAY ON INSTALLING USB DEVICES 1. Do not plug in your device right away. Install all drivers and software first! 2. Reboot 3. Plug the power or turn on your USB Device 4. Plug in the USB Port. 5. Windows Will detect the Device Automatically. Finish! Hope this helps.

Canon Canoscan LiDE 25 shows "USB device not recognized" on Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Point # 1 : Electronic devices are not made to be used sparingly or stored for long periods of time.

Point # 2 : 5-6 years is not 'barely' in-terms of an electronic device's lifetime (Given that the warranty for your device is about 1 year !).

Point # 3 : You obviously tried almost everything on the computer site of this issue, Its time to take your device to a service center.

THE steps will guide you through a successful scanner to pc interaction
  • 1

Unpack your new scanner and set it up. Follow package directions and setup instructions to assemble any parts that need assembly.

  • 2

Plug in your scanner and power it up.

  • 3

Insert the setup CD in your CD-ROM or DVD drive. It should autotomatically run. If it doesn't, click on "My Computer" and then on the CD or DVD drive to open the CD. Look for a Setup.exe file. Double-click on it to launch the setup disk.

  • 4

Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the end-user agreement and install the necessary drivers and software to run your new scanner.

  • 5

When prompted, connect the USB cable to the scanner, then plug the other end into the USB port on your desktop PC.

  • 6

Windows will recognize that a new device is available on your computer, and find the necessary software and drivers to install it.

  • 7

Restart your PC if prompted to do so.

  • 1

Check all cable connections to be sure that they are secure.

  • 2

Disconnect the USB cable from the desktop and the scanner.

  • 3

Turn off your computer and let it cool down for 10 minutes.

  • 4

Turn the computer on, then turn the scanner on. Reconnect the USB cable to the scanner. Try connecting the other end of the USB cable to a different port on your computer.

  • 5

If none of these suggestions solve your problem, uninstall the scanner and start over.

On a Fujitsu fi-6230 I keep getting an error occured communicating with scanning device. please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again.. i have to keep uninstalling and...

This a USB scanner and it supports the following OS's: Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional / Microsoft® XP (32 bit/64 bit) / Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 (32 bit/64 bit) / Microsoft® Windows Vista™ (32 bit/64 bit). IF, the usb cable is connected in the front usb connectors go ahead and plug it in the back usb ports since sometimes the front usb ports are either to slow or not connected. Additional, after pluging the the scanner on the back usb ports restart your computer and then proceed reinstalling the drivers for it.

Canon Canoscan D1259U2F dont have any driver for Windows 7 64-bit

the only successful method I found for using CanoScan D1250U2F in 64 bit Windows 7 (I guess the same would be for 64 bit Vista) is to use Windows XP Mode in Virtual PC (attach the scanner as USB device and that's it - works perfectly)

I had a problem with Windows 7 detecting the device as CanoScan (needed for Windows XP Mode to detect is as USB device and allow attach) - the solution was to unplug the scanner, plug it in and CANCEL Windows 7 hardware detection process before it finishes - this leaves it as "CanoScan" device (auto-detect will leave it as "Unrecognized device" and with that unusable/un-attachable in Windows XP Mode)

latest versions of Windows XP Mode will make your hard drives accessible as network locations (no need for external media)

    Can't install scanner

First chek if the USB ports are working by inserting a known working device, like a pendrive. If it is working then change the USB cable. Buy a good quality cable designed for USB 2.0. This is shielded cable and this should solve your problem. Pls ensure that scanner is powered.

Windows xp wont recognize usb connection from rave. Is there a driver I need?

If you're using the retractable usb cable that came with the player, replace it. I had the same problem. XP recognized that there was a device, but couldn't open it. I was getting a "Driver not installed" error in device manager.

    Check this out :

    1) One of your USB devices have faulted, or is causing a resource conflict (or similar)
-- Remove all USB devices, and reboot.
    2) Your USB chip/ports have been damaged.
-- Find a spare HardDisk or bacjup your data and re-install Windows and see how that goes.
    3) Your Power Supply Unit (PSU) isnt supplying enough power to your PC (usually caused by a Video card upgrade). Try a more powerful PSU ... 400watts should do the trick
    4) Bad memory (RAM) can cause wierd problems. run memtest for an hour to make sure your memory is ok

It seems that many people are still getting the 'USB Device not Recognized' problem from time to time. Unfortunately there is no easy fix.
Firstly, it's recommended that you make sure every one of your motherboard drivers are completely up-to-date, but you probably already knew that.
In XP, after a USB port isn't used for a long while the USB driver built into the OS sets the OHCI controller to suspend. When you plug a device back in, it can sometimes fail to 'wake up' properly. This problem was supposedly fixed in SP1 but there is a related registry hack that may still be able to help.
    Run regedt32.exe and navigate to;
Create the Usb key if it doesn't already exist. Under this key, create a new DWORD value called DisableSelectiveSuspend and give it a value of 1. Then restart the PC.
A long shot perhaps, but I recall having similar problems with a USB hub built into my Microsoft keyboard and adding this key seemed to solve it. It wouldn't hurt in trying .
Alternatively, removing all entries relating to USB in Device Manager and all associated USB drivers will force XP into refreshing the USB driver stack.
    Begin by unplugging all USB devices, then use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall any USB driver software. Next, boot up into safe mode and go to Device Manager. Once in device manager make sure 'Show hidden devices' is checked under the View menu. Uninstall all device entries in this order;
    1. USB peripheral devices (printers etc.)
    2. HID and/or Composite USB (Human Interface Devices) You're using PS/2 input devices so you may not have this entry.
    3. USB Root Hub(s)
    4. USB Host Controller(s) (Universal or Enhanced Host Controllers)
Then boot back into Windows (not safe mode) and it should populate the Root Hubs & Host controllers again. Proceed to plug your USB devices back in, starting with your powered hub. Be aware that most USB printers and scanners need to have their drivers installed first before you plug them in.
Hopefully some of this may be of help, let us know how you get on.

Please let me know if u got help and rate this SOLUTION AS FIXYA if ur problem is fixed!
