Question about Dell Inspiron 1100 Notebook
I have a Dell 1100 using a Belking wireless G card but when I use it with a battery, ACPI in device manager takes over giving the Belkin card a red X. I realized that it disables the wireless card to I disabled the ACPI and then enabled the wireless card again, and it connects. I can use it without problem if its plugged in for power, but once I put in the battery, it kills the wireless card and I have to do it all again. Very frustrating! Bios has been updated, and Belkin drivers were downloaded from website. Help!
There are a couple of things that can cause this issue. Let's try the easiest one first.
Open the Network Connections window
Right click on the network device and verify that it is enabled, then click on Properties
Click on the Configure button next to the Connect Using field near the top
Click on the Power Management tab at the top
Clear the top check box ". . . to save power"
Close all of the windows and test to see if you can connect.
Good luck and please let me know how this works for you. If it does not work, let me know and we can look at something else.
