Question about Fuji FinePix E510 Digital Camera

Broken digital camera.

I purchased this Panasonic camera a year and a half ago. I have it with me at all times and use it frequently. The model is DMC-LZ2. In the last month is has started to take double and triple images once in a while. Most often it's been great and I have loved using it. Last weekend I tried to take a picture and no image would come up on the screen. I took it to the dealer where two guys looked it over and said something must have become disconnected internally and that it would not be cost-effective to fix. The camera will take photos which can be played back but you cannot see an image when you take a picture in the view finder. Is it true it can't be fixed inexpensively? Any suggestions?

Re: Broken digital camera.

All you need is a small triple "y" screw driver and the ability to unscrew 5 screws. There is only one flat cable connected to the circuit board that is held in place with a small plastic blue bar. Gently release the blue bar at each end with a small jewelry screw drive, slide that flat cable out and then back in and reset the cable with the blue bar at each end. Be sure to remove the batteries before you get started and don't touch the flash capacitor, I still holds a charge! If that doesn't fix the problem, then look on eBay for a used LCD or broken E510 thats being parted out. So, yes you can fix it at a reasonable cost, but they won't. A new LCD is $106 + labor.

Re: Broken digital camera.

Hi, I have this camera & when it takes multiple pix, I usually find I've hit the delete button, which also is the "multiple pic" button. Just keep pressing it until the display doesn't show the papers stacked on each other with the letters H, L, or the infinity symbol. If you can see your answers for you on that.

Hi, It almost sounds like the battery won't hold a charge anymore which means you need a new battery. Since the camera isn't quite a year old yet I'd suggest contacting Nikon and seeing if they'll do anything for you before you buy a new battery.

We are getting hoizpntal lines on all photos taken, but in video mode, it looks normal. Doesn't sound like lens to me?

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Darkened image

same for you, please red this: "My camera is 2 years old. 6 months ago horizontal lines began appearing in all pictures" The problem is not the sensor as the first solution has been posted, the real problem is connected with the flat cable inside lenses that is broken. You cannot replace it, you can raplace intere zoom. The problem is frequently on this type of camera and direct connected with camera frequent use. The fixed and automatic diaphragm do not work bacause broken flet is broken and the sensor is receiving too mach light. Take the camera, switch it on then light with a flashlight the lens, you see a diaphragm movement or hear a click on the lens, if not the flat wire is broken (means microcut inside flat invisible without a magnifying glass). Most time same problem is present with no image on the screen because diaphragm is completelly closed.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9PP Digital Camera Display not working

It seems that the only repair option unless I try to take it apart myself was to send it off to Panasonic for a flat rate of $161.50. So I went to "Plan B" ..... I went on eBay, found the exact same camera last night that had an auction that was ending in a few hours. I bid on it & & won it for $61. So I get memory cards, extra charger, battery & cables & move on. If, down the road, I can find a Panasonic recall similar to Canon's then I'll bring the old one back to life.

Transfering pictures

I have a DMC-LZ7 that I purchased a year and a half ago. You can transfer pics from the built-in memory from the "copy" menu function when the camera is in play mode (10th option down in the menu). If you move the cursor down to this selection then hit the right arrow button, there should be options to both transfer from built-in memory to the SD card and vice versa.

Hoizontal lines in images

The problem is faulty CCD sensor ( this device converts light into image ) so faulty sensor means either poor quality pics or no pics at all. Have sensor replaced and camera will work fine.
