Question about Hoover F7205900 SteamVac V2 Wet/Dry Vacuum

It is not sucking up all the water

My hoover DualV is not sucking up all the water and my rugs are wet. When I first bought it my rugs were much drier after I shampooed them. Not much water is going into the tank. Can I fix this problem or does it need to go into repair.

Re: It is not sucking up all the water

I have this problem with my Hoover SteamVac V2 occassionally. I usually find it is caused by one of three things. The dirty water tank is not locked down well, the hand attachment flap has not been pushed in all the way to seal tightly, or the suction area is clogged up. The first two are easy to check. To clean the suction area, I use a Zip-it which is made for drain cleaning but fits in that area perfectly. It available at Lowe's or on the web.

Re: It is not sucking up all the water

I've had this happen to my SteamVac V2 and usually find that it's because I don't have the dirty water tank locked down well or I haven't pushed the hand attachment flap in tight or its gotten clogged up down in the suction area. I have a black lab and that area accumulates dog hair quickly. I use a Zip-it available at Lowe's or on the web to clean that out.

If the wire is underneath the unit it won\'t suck up the water. I did this once. Make sure it is flush with the floor.

If it's brand new your best bet might be taking it to a Hoover service center. That'll have a year warranty on it so the fix would be free.

I have the hoover automatic dual vac 5. this is the 3rd hoover rug cleaner i purchased and always the same problem the spray underneth the rotator bars hardly dispenses and the floor hardly gets wet, this...

The carpet is not intended to get soaked, like what you see with a spray application. If you are seeing a stream of water in the nozzle/tank during the recovery stroke, this is working properly.

Hoover steam vac not sucking water back up i have super wet floors and no water in recovery tank

I think it is the gasket on top and bottom of the plastic chanel that takes the water up to the dirty water holding tank , Part of the rubber gasket is missing on both the top and bottom. This will alow
air to come in and thus you loose the suction to empty the water into the dirty water bin. My unit is hoover steam vac model F60220-900. I need to know where to get the gaskets.
