Kenmore double oven won't run on

Model # 911.47642100. I've had several episodes of F7 where we take the ribbon off and clean it or shake things around a little but recently we had a new symptom. The oven will turn and get to temp for some random period of time, then turn off on it's own. It's done that for about 2 weeks and now it just won't turn on. The clock works so it's getting electricity. I'm in the middle of wiggling and re-seating all the plugs in the circuitboard but if anyone has other suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

You are The Man! I have the plastic keypad with the dual ribbon and slid the paper in between the two. At first it made no difference so I pushed it further down the slot and it's been working for two days now!

You just saved me ~$400 in service calls and part chasing. Thank you!

Kenmore oven has error code F7

The control panel has a flat ribbon cable that plugs into the relay module. The ribbon is actually two ribbons pressed together. The plastic insulation has a defect, and the leads between the two ribbons cross. You can seperate them easily by lifting them apart. Place a piece of paper between them to act as an insulator. This should solve your problem.

My Kennmore double oven is beeping with an F7 code

There is a probelm with the control panel. You can fix it for about a penny. The panel has a printed ribbon cable that plugs into the relay board. The ribbon cable is actually two cables pressed together, which can be seperated by simply lifting them apart. The ribbon cable has a defect in that the plasic insulation is defective, causing the leads between the two ribbons to cross, or short circuit. Simply place a thin sheet of paper between them, and make sure you push the paper down all of the way to the plastic housing, fold over the edges around the cable, you are done.

GE JT912-30 single wall oven "help" with F7 - F0 error

I have a double oven GE Profile. The error message FO appeared. I shut off the circuit breaker for 30 minutes or more and the oven works but without warning FO reappears. FO message means there is short in the clear Off touch button. The only solution replace the complete panel. My cost delivered $328. Ouch!

Kenmore double-oven (electric)

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

My oven wont quit beeping!

It depends on the actual model number (that you didn't supply), but most Kenmore F7 errors indicate a bad keypad or bad control panel. If you unplug the ribbon cable from the keypad to the panel then plug the oven back in and it starts beeping again, it's a bad control panel, if it doesn't beep anymore, it's a bad keypad.

Please unplug the oven power with working on it.

Double oven

ovenman, there's not a complete model number here but in the Kenmore line F7 is the code for a stuck function switch or bad keypad. Makes sense that it's telling you to start the lower oven. Try removing the ribbon cable from the board and cleaning the ends with an eraser. Reseat it and see if the code comes back. Make sure to kill the power before doing this. Catriver..post back.
