At startup my nec monitor sometimes stays off. i can manually turn it on using the button on front of the monitor. also, sometimes when i move the mouse the monitor turns off. when i turn it on again i get a message ''video input 2D Sub''.
i use it with a mac pro tower. both are only 18 months old and the problem started a few weeks ago. what's up? thanks. c

hello Make sure the power cable is firmly connected to both monitor and wall socket ,try another power cable if you have one. If the power leds still continue to stay off then the monitor has an internal problem and a a part needs to be replaced.
Use your monitor buttons to look for Resolution Notice and turn it off.
To disable the notice on ViewSonic 23" LCD Monitor , use the buttons on the front of the montior to do the following: * Press #1 button * Use down arrow to highlight Setup Menu and press #2 button * Use down arrow to highlight Resolution notice and press #2 button * Select Disable and exit!!
To disable the notice on NEC LCD 1765 monitor * Press button #5 on the monitor * Scroll up and down the menu list with Montior Button #4 and then select with Monitor Button #5. Go to "Advanced menu" set the Resolution notice to OFF.
Hi , The monitor flicker problem. The monitor when turn on will display image for couple of second then turn black. The monitor status led is still green. This will happen each time it is turn on. The symptom at appear to come from the inverter board.
Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.
