I have same problem, great sound but when I play a dvd on the internal dvd player I can barely hear the sound-even when turning it up all the way so we have to use English Subtitles to get the dialog.

This is a known problem - there is no fix - if the dvd mech is replaced, the volume will still be the same. Sorry - - inside info

Im trying to connect my coby dvd player to my samsui tv

Hi Maria,
You can hear the sound means your TV and the DVD player are working well. May be the video connecting cord ( yellow connector) between the TV and DVD player has gone bad. Please try replacing it. For testing, you can interchange it with any of the two sound connecting cords which have white and red connectors. I hope it helps.

Very low audio sound from recorded dvd

Could be the way it's connected, scart leads are good at causing problems! Does the box have a volume control? If so turn it up and leave it alone then. If you need to adjust the sound when watching use only the TV volume control.

Why use the TV in hearing the sound from DVD
player. You can use some small speaker and connect it at the back of the DVD player.

Have to turn the volume to 80-100 to hear the tv in my bedroom

If it's just playing DVD's that the volume is low some DVD players have their own volume control.
You could look at the back of your tv and see if the dvd or psp is hooked up to a "line in" or a 'variable' input. The Line in is a constant audio source. The variable will be also affected by the volume on the TV.

I can't get any sound from it.. just great visual...what can I do?

Yellow plugs and jacks are the Video and that works. Red and White are the RCA sound wires from the DVD to TV.

OR

Your sound goes from the DVD to TV via a Fiber Optic or Fire Wire.

OR

You use Ch 3 on the TV and watch the DVD through a TV Tuner and use the TV Antenna Cable between the DVD and TV.

If that didn't help, let me know for more things to check like Audio settings on the TV.

Check the setup menu on your TV. Many models require that you choose between using the internal speakers and using the speaker outputs. Sometimes the TV menu choices are "FIXED" (audio output) or "VARIABLE" (internal speakers).

Sound

Sounds like a cable problem. I get this a lot with my coaxial cable, it takes a little turning or playing with to start working. Use an optical cable if you have the option, they are more secure, or if you don't mind going analog use the red white rca cable. Either that or replace the coaxial, if you're using one. If your amp/TV, whatever you're connected to, has a vacant audio input jack to switch to, try that as well. Good luck
