Video camera my lcd screen appears black doesn't capture anything even if the cap of the camera is open

Canon's U.S. customer service ph is 1800 828 4040 & are open until midnight weekdays.It says they will pay for shipping etc no matter warranty.

I have the ZR70 and the screen is black and unable to see any video, just bought it from someone who never really used it, maybe twice and now that i own it the camera it will not show any video, Where can I get a hold of the company to replace the defective CCD imager, Please someone out there let me know.

Defective ccd imager!! company will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released unit has a factry defect ccd imager. the company recalled these unit and replaced with a stronger version of ccd imager( they are still doing it). check it out.

When in video recording mode LCD screen and viewfinder are black when the lens cap is off.

It could one of a few problems:

1. The viewfinder is pulled out and "PRIORITY" is set to "FINDER".

Push the viewfinder back in or set "PRIORITY" to "LCD".

2. The LCD monitor's brightness setting is too dark.

Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor.

3. If the monitor is tilted upward 180 degrees, open the monitor fully.

Lens Cap problem

It is known problem of bad ccd imager in JVC GR-D30U camcorder.

Dvx100a showing black screens on lcd screen and view finder

You probably have the lens cap on, the iris dial closed, or you are in vcr mode rather than camera mode. You may also have the nd filter set to 1/64th, this is only for bright sunlight. When shooting indoors with low light, set the nd filter to off and hit the iris button until iris manual appears on the lcd, then dial the iris dial in front of the iris button up or down to bring the iris to around 5.6 f stop.

Screen Is Black

there are two possible problem of your camera..1 may be the iris is not opening..try to look at inside of the lens you should see the iris will open when you turn off and on the the camera at the camera mode..if the iris in opening the 2nd problem maybe is the image sensor is this case you have bring it to the service center....

There is no picture or a black screen appears in the viewfinder or LCD when attempting to record. Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if there is no picture or a black screen appears in the viewfinder or LCD when attempting to record. NOTES:
  • Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the viewfinder or LCD status after completing each step.
  • It may be necessary to refer to the operating instructions provided with the camcorder for information on how to perform a task on your specific model.
  1. Ensure the lens cap on the front of the camcorder has been removed.
  2. Ensure a fully-charged battery is inserted in the camcorder.
  3. Ensure the STANDBY/LOCK switch is set to the STANDBY position.
  4. Turn on the camcorder and set it to the CAMERA mode.
  5. Look to see if an image can be seen in the viewfinder or LCD.
  6. IMPORTANT: Some camcorders have both a viewfinder and LCD. To conserve power, the viewfinder and LCD will not display at the same time. To use the viewfinder, the LCD must be closed.
  7. If the issue is not resolved, reset the camcorder to factory specifications.
NOTE: If the issue is still unresolved after completing the troubleshootin

Panasonic PV-GS35 Viewfinder screen connection problem in hinge joint

the hinge is definetly damaged and is going to need replacing. these hinges do need replacing if used allot because this is a moving mechanical part. This is not a easy thing to do, it needs to be done by a panasonic technician.
