    Sorry, I am new to the site, I should have read the ratings more carefully.

    It isn't the original power cord because the original stopped working about a year ago. I thought just getting a power cord would do the trick instead of getting a new battery because honestly the computer itself isn't worth much.

    I had a new battery for mine & then a new power cord & together they fixed it. Maybe try the power cord first to save money.

That flashing light indicates that the laptop is not getting power, check and test your power cord. That light should be light solid when plugged in. good Luck

    Just out of curiosity, is that the original power cord for that model? Only because alot of aftermarket power cords do not charge the battery.

    Best of luck with that laptop

Toshiba Satellite A25-S207 won't boot. When the power button is pressed, a single beep is heard and the power on indicator on front of laptop turns from green to flashing yellow. The fan is also comes on...

This is a very old computer. There could be a number of things causing this symptom. Best bet is to take it to a local shop, not a big box store, for their opinion. My guess is it is not worth fixing.

If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

My toshiba satellite a25 s207 trys to power on but wont

Hello sir, the reasons why your power supply wont turn on;
  1. It detected an overload, it is called a switching power supply, if it detects shorts, or something wrong on the mainboard it will not start.
  2. It cannot supply the right amount of current, the power supply is defective.
I had that symptom on my compaq armada, I dissassemble it part by part, then slowly reassemble it, piece by piece making sure all contacts are good and clean. As i power on the unit it turns on without a problem. to do this you should know a little thing about laptops/PCs. hope this helps

Possible mishap with the power?

Three possible reasons why this has happened
1 - The power supply cord has a faulty or broken wire somewhere and needs repairing. Take a good look and see if you notice anything out of the ordinary (UNPLUG THE POWER CABLE FROM SOCKET AND COMPUTER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO LOOK)
2 - There could be a physical problem with the plug or socket for where it connects to your laptop and needs to repaired or replaced
3 - The computer has short circuited with the power cable socket in your laptop preventing any power for the Laptop

Hope this helps
