Question about GE Dryers
It is a general electric dryer
First thing would be to consider is your element. IF you have a meter, you should turn power off to machine and check continuity or ohms across the element. If it is good you should then check the thermal fuse. It looks like a white disk with a small fuse inside. On both of these you should remove wires before checking them. If they are good, there is an overload on the housing of the element. Sometimes they are resetable with a button in the middle, most are not. Check it the same way. Now you did not say if it was heating a little. But if it is, then you probably have a blockage or kink in your vent. Also check outside to make sure that the flap is not blocked. Good luck.

the coil should glow visually through the of coil casing. if you reinstalled the rear panel, then watch the coil for the first 15 minutes to see if it still glows the whole time. if it does replace the snapstat sensor on the casing. also go outside and feel the heat coming out of the vent . it should be about 15 degrees cooler. the noise can be any of these; belt idler , belt , guides. ordryer not level. try these and get back to me please. thanks karl

SOURCE: General electric dryer is in
Check your lint filter and make sure that the vent duct is clean from the dryer all the way to the outside of your home.
If this checks out, the cycling (high limit) thermostat is malfunctioning or the fan and/or fan's blades are broken. None of these are very difficult or expensive to repair.
