Question about Tomtom GO 700 GPS Receiver
I tried to download a new map to my tomtom 700. I don't know whether I succeeded or not, because it has suddenly stopped working altogether. It seems completely dead. When I connect it to my PC it does not show as connected. I have tried pressing the reset button etc lots of times, but nothing. Immediately after pressing reset, when I press the on off button there is a very brief green light, but that disappears and does not reappear until I press reset again. Any one any ideas? I find trying to communicate with Tomtom by email is a waste of time.
After checking around around the web it seems that you are not the only one to get the green screen of death. My suggestion is to hold reset for several seconds, release reset and hold the power button button for 10 seconds. If this doesn't work the only other option is to let the unit sit for several days to let the internal battery completly drain, once drained theirs a good chance it will function normally, this allows any temporary memory to be cleared. Good Luck & hope this helps L8R
