Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Speaker/Docking station plays iPod then stops

My speakers/dock will play my iPod for a while (sometimes many hours) and then stop. When I turn it on again right away, it stops after an hour or so, then after a few minutes, and it just keeps turning off at closer intervals until it just won't turn on again. When I let it ''cool off''' and don't use it for a few days, the same pattern repeats itself.

It's a Kensington SX2000 (model# K33165).

I've tried with two different models of iPod's and that made no difference.

SOURCE: does the new bose dock station charge the new ipod touch (32g)?

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.

SOURCE: new ipod nano not compatable with bose docking

This is true. The new iPod nano is not compatible with the original SoundDock. This only means that it won't charge the iPod's power. Audio should be okay. This is an Apple issue. They changed the way almost all of their iPods charge (except the iPod classic). Bose can upgrade the SoundDock for their normal repair fee of $99. This would also you a new 1 year warranty.

Don't bother trying to fix it these have a real problem with the connector and board buy yourself a docking station with remote for about $15 on ebay and it will fix you up. Plug into the input Jack and you are back in business. You can buy a Pyle Home PIDOCK1 Universal iPod/iPhone Docking Station cheap on ebay and it has a remote. It will fit nicely on your speaker and do everything you need it to do.

moz-screenshot-12.pngmoz-screenshot-13.pngmoz-screenshot-14.pngmoz-screenshot-15.png honestytessy.jpgHow to Connect an iPod to a Speaker Bar

A speaker bar is a (usually portable) speaker system that includes a dock for an iPod. The unit is usually bar-shaped, with either a rectangular or cylindrical cross-section. Connecting an iPod to a speaker bar is usually as simple as plugging it in. Many speaker bars will also charge the iPod while it is connected. However some do not have an iPod dock, in which case the iPod must be connected by a 3.5mm audio cable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* 3.5mm cable (for some speaker bars)

Turn the iPod on. Look to see if the speaker bar has a dock for the iPod. The dock will fit an iPod perfectly and will generally be located in the center of the speaker bar. There will be a connector that resembles the connector on the docking cable that came with the iPod. Place the iPod on the docking station and turn on the speaker bar. Such is the case with the "2.1 Channel Bar Speaker with Dock for iPod" or the "Yamaha YAS-71BL Front Surround Speaker System"

iPod headphones use a 3.5mm audio cable.

honestytessy_0.jpg

Connect the iPod via the 3.5mm cable. If the speaker bar does not have a docking station it will have a 3.5mm cable connector with a jack like the headphone jack on iPod ear pods. Plug the 3.5mm cable in the iPod headphone jack. Plug the other end in the iPod. Turn on the speaker bar. The procedure is straight forward and Apple specifically designed the headphone jack with third party stereos in mind.

Select a song on the iPod and play it. The speaker bar will play the music from the iPod.

Hope that helped..

have a nice day.

No sound from my Pure-Fi Express plus into my 4th gen Nan Ipod

Hi, while your pure express plus you just purchased is not playing out any sound is because, the speaker that enable you to play the sound when you play music through the ipod is faulty and it needs to be replaced with another one for it to function properly again.

After changing the speaker that is faulty with a new speaker, you can now start enjoying the music again through the internal speaker.

Take care.

Itouch charging

Hi there,

Some speaker systems which are only compatible for charging the ipod nanos and classics do not work with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the internals are slighly different from one another which will not allow that speaker system to charge your iTouch.

To play & Charge your touch, i suggest getting a speaker system that supports the iPod touch platform.

Hope this helps ?!
