Question about Hitachi 61SWX10B 61" Rear Projection Television
Now this is very interesting you replaced the sound module twice well this is not good, however this does denote an engineering flaw in that module. I am almost afraid of telling you what you have to do and that is fix the module, which requires you to: 1) Have knowledge of electronics 2) Have the proper equipment 3) have a schematic to aid in troubleshooting this issue 4) be prepared to engineer a way of limiting the current in that module so that it does not go out as fast. Those are the facts, television repair is a vocation, something that someone trains to do over the course of years (3-4 years). I have offered advice on this forum and been told it was not helpful when shown to other techs I know they say that the advice I gave was sound but it was not what the person wanted to hear. You have already spent $400.00 to $500.00 dollars on this set and you don't want to spend anymore, well I have bad news even if you do it yourself you are going to end up spending 200 - 400 on this set depending on the cost of the module, and guess what, it is going to go out again, why because you have to find out what is happening to that module and then find a way of preventing it. I can tell you what is causing your problem and that is heat, how do you prevent heat? use a heatsink with a proper amount of heat sink paste. Can I help you fix this module (which will cut your cost) yes I can, if I were local to you I would ask you to bring your set over and we would begin to work on it, The problem is I might not be in your state and you have already invested money in this system, which has to be reengineered to repair the sound module problem. In other words, ther is no logical way around this problem, except to repair the module which will still cost you money.
