Question about Hitachi 61SWX10B 61" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

No sound I have no sound . I used to be able to turn it off and than back on again but it doesn't work anymore. I purchased this new in 2001 and had to replace the sound panel twice. This costs around $400 to $500 to fix. Not happy. Is there a way around this problem ???

I too have been without sound for a few years now. I am doing exactly what another writer states and that is I have hooked up an surround sound system and my sounds work just fine thru this external system.

My sound stops for no reason thru this external system. I just turn the tv off and wait 15-30 seconds and its back.

Now I have the "RED" problem so many others are writing about. Magic Focus locks on red w/three bars - goes blank and flashes a green number 5 in the bottom right for 2-3 seconds. UGG

I have the same problem, having fixed the audio module twice. I am told Hitachi has had numerous problems of this kind, yet have discontinued production of the audio module. Replacement is the solution, I just need to find a source for an existing supply of audio modules. Help!!!

My sound goes out about 30 seconds after turning it on. Then after warming up, sometimes it comes on by itself. If not, turning off and on seems to fix it. Once warmed up, the problem DOES NOT reappear for the rest of the day. I have no schematic and have not opened up the set yet. Any advice of what to look for?

Now this is very interesting you replaced the sound module twice well this is not good, however this does denote an engineering flaw in that module. I am almost afraid of telling you what you have to do and that is fix the module, which requires you to: 1) Have knowledge of electronics 2) Have the proper equipment 3) have a schematic to aid in troubleshooting this issue 4) be prepared to engineer a way of limiting the current in that module so that it does not go out as fast. Those are the facts, television repair is a vocation, something that someone trains to do over the course of years (3-4 years). I have offered advice on this forum and been told it was not helpful when shown to other techs I know they say that the advice I gave was sound but it was not what the person wanted to hear. You have already spent $400.00 to $500.00 dollars on this set and you don't want to spend anymore, well I have bad news even if you do it yourself you are going to end up spending 200 - 400 on this set depending on the cost of the module, and guess what, it is going to go out again, why because you have to find out what is happening to that module and then find a way of preventing it. I can tell you what is causing your problem and that is heat, how do you prevent heat? use a heatsink with a proper amount of heat sink paste. Can I help you fix this module (which will cut your cost) yes I can, if I were local to you I would ask you to bring your set over and we would begin to work on it, The problem is I might not be in your state and you have already invested money in this system, which has to be reengineered to repair the sound module problem. In other words, ther is no logical way around this problem, except to repair the module which will still cost you money.

Loose jack connection to speaker

It sounds like you need to get a new jack socket and replace it. It could be just a soldering problem. Especially if you have removed the plug a lot in the past.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 15mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

2001 BMW 530, car turns over fine but sometimes just cranks and cranks without the engine starting. Battery turns engine over great but wont start. Next day starts great all day, then acts up again and...

sounds like a fuel pump or filter problem. replace filter first its cheaper than a fuel fuel filter on my 01 530 was under the driver side half way back along the bottom rail of the car.i had to remove the aero plastic with a plug puller that gave me acess to it.try and replace that first. if it doesn work its prob.fuel pump.

Doesn´t work anymore

Hi. Forgive me for asking, but did you try unplugging everything, including the firewire, and plugging it in again?

If you try this and it doesn't work, try shutting your laptop down gracefully, then unplug all the Firebox connectors including the electricity. Wait about 10 seconds, then reboot your laptop. Don't open your recording software yet.

Connect the electricity and the firewire as described in the Firebox manual, and then open your recording software. If this doesn't work, something might be wrong with the Firebox.

The problem you have happens once in a while with mine--it seems to be connected with overheating or something. Anyone else have this problem?

Good luck!

Sounds like the internal hard drive has failed on the system. The easiest way to remedy this is purchasing a used xbox hard drive off ebay. Unfortunately if it is the hard drive there isn't anything you can do to that drive to fix it. It needs to be replaced.

Camera "dead"

Did you try taking the batteries out? If not, try that and then put them back in again. This might reset the camera back to normal. Also, try turning the dial. Make sure it is at the camera setting, then try shutting it off. Further, move the dial to Set-up, and scroll down to the Reset all setting, press the right arrow and answer "Reset".
