Sears lawn mower will not start.

Changed oil in sears lawnmower last year. Worked for a while last year and then stopped working. This spring I took it out this spring and then tried to start but would not start. I still have old oil and gas in the lawn mower. I need some help with my sears lawnmower.

Tip the mower up on it's side with the dip stick tube on the lower side and dump the oil out. Best to run the mower till its out of gas first.

SOURCE: Want start. Lawn mower is about 4 years old.

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it
run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,
but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you
buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will
get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, count the
number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns
they were in/out.
Please do not forget to rate me, Thanks
Good Luck, I hope this help

What kinda of oil do i use for my lawnmower

Two choices I'd recommend if you change your oil faithfully than you can use a SAE 30 weight oil. A lot of manufacturers will recommend using the newer version of oil that doesn't break down as quick where as a lawn mower motor runs at such high temperatures due to being an air cooled engine. Most auto supply stores or lawn and garden dealers will carry the longer life based oil, but personally I prefer to stay with what has worked for me for many years. Preventative maintenance , (Faithfully) for me means every spring. Good Luck

How do I find a replacement electric motor for my Worx WG718 lawn mower?

WORX Lawnmowers seem to be incredibly unreliable, at least according to their own customer reviews. I found that Sears (one of their retailers) does carry some replacement parts, including motors, but often the models are updated, and beyond their 2 or 3 year warranty, the motors are discontinued. You may have to look for another WORX mower being sold for parts to acquire a working motor. Alternatively, keep checking EBay for a used motor. When operational, the WORX mowers are great, but with only a 2 to 3 year life expectancy, they are not the bargain they appear to be at first. Many customer reviews give high marks for the first year. Fewer for the second year, and by the third year, you'll be hard pressed to find a positive review of their mower products. I'm a WG780 owner: 2 years and my mower was shot too. WORX will not offer replacement motors, and will not offer repair service beyond their 2 or 3 year warranty (Two year warranty for machines sold prior to 2013; three year warranty after 2013) . Their operators will tell you that you'll need a new mower. Service during the warranty / Nothing afterwards.

I have a new 650 sears craftsman self propelled 22" lawnmower that will not start. I have gone through the prime bulb instructions, still no luck.\r\nAny ideas? Walter in Alberta Canada.

could be the priming bulb gasket between the air-filter assy. and the carb.
I have the same lawnmower and if I prime with gas from a can it will start but stop after a few seconds. When I push the bulb I can hear air leaking in this area. You can replace the gasket by removing the back half of the air-filter assembly. I am looking to buy a gasket today I let you know how it works out! Thanks Ron

Snapper push lawnmower worked fine last summer thru Sept. took it out today and can't get it to crank. Any suggestions to crank lawnmower after it sit up for 6 months?

Your carburator has old fuel that has turned to "varnish" essentially. It must be removed and cleaned. Next year, run the fuel all the way out so there is none left in it to turn to varnish.

I have a Sears Craftsman mower with Tecumseh, major oil leak

On many Tecumseh engines, there is a crankcase breather located under the flywheel. It has a cork gasket to seal the top plate of the breather. Either the rubber breather housing is cracked, or the cork gasket needs replaced.

It won't start. It is only one year old and has worked fine but all of a sudden quit. I changed the spark plug but no difference.

most likely the problem is that there isn't a nough or No oil in the enginne as the new lawnmowers only come with the min. about of oil in them - they do say to fill the oil to the max. on the dip stick after the firist use./ make sure that the choke is not getting jamed with something.P

Crafsman Eager 1 6.75 HP lawnmower wont start

I have an Eager 1, as well and when I try to pull the cord it does not turn at all. It's stuck. I hit a tree root and since then I have had problems with it. I have 2 mowers so it was not used last year at all. Gas was drained and it was stored in a shed. Anyway, I know nothng about mowers other than spark plugs, gas, oil, sharp blades and filters. Is the motor seized? Thanks
