Question about Roybi weed eater's line length.

I inherited a Ryobi weed eater left in the house I just bought but it has no instructions. How long should the plastic line be? I tried 6'' but it kept breaking off.

Thank you! I see that my line is too long plus I've been hitting chain link fence and cement and then the line breaks. I'll follow your suggestions.

The standard line length is around 3-4". you can leave it as long as you want, provided it does not bog the engine down, or bog down when cutting plants.

however plastic line breakage is typical of older line. it gets very brittle. Also typical of hitting rocks, gravel, cement, asphault, ground, etc.

Cub cadet weed eater only starts for a second with starting fluid then shuts down

My roybi did the same thing. The fuel lines were swollen due to the ethanol in the gas. Replaced lines with ones that can handle modern fuel.

I have an electric RYOBI weed eater and I need HELP...manual/instructions on how to access the spool so I can feed the line through the exit hole and use the thing! Thank you. Have two numbers: EL...

Unscrew thw bump nut to remove the spool. Take a length of about 6 foot of line, kink it in the middle and pass this through the hole in the spool. Wind the two lengths of line around the spool in their own divisions and in the same direction. The direction of wind is embossed in the reel and the line should be wound tightly and held all the while. When you have about 6-8 inches left in your hand, bring the cover up to the spool and carefully pass the two ends of the line through the holes, push the cover all the way over while pulling on the two pieces of line and ensuring that the lines stay on their own side of the division on the spool. Fit and tighten the bump nut and trim the lines to just about the cut-off blade.
The lines should trail out of the holes in the direction of the machine's rotation. Try cut with the tip of the line as much as possible. Cutting nearer the drum flexes the line and will lead to early breaking of the lines. Run the motor at a constant speed and rather move the cutting head in and out of the weeds to affect a deeper cut
