Press down on the silver tank saddle at the back of the robot. While putting pressure on the saddle, tap the release handle quickly, right at the edge. That should cause the tank to pop up.

NO water coming out of Scooba.  It's moving and rotating, but not emitting water.

Here's what worked for me.

Use a drinking straw to blow on the solution valve (next to the battery under the tank). If that doesn't work, try blowing a bit of canned air on the solution outlets on the bottom of the unit (in the trough in front of the brush).

Others have suggested using hot water to clean the solution and dirty tanks.

Scooba problem

Does it put down clean water onto the floor? If so, rinse the four ports on the underside of the tank really thoroughly. You might have a clog; it's not difficult to dislodge it if you use enough warm water. Also make sure that the squeegees on the cleaning head cartridge (which holds the brush) are straight and in good condition.

If it doesn't put down water at all, try the tank rinse anyway, as it can help with that issue, too.

Scooba says check tank and won't move.

Rinse the four ports on the underside of the tank with warm water, particularly the round opening that covers your Scooba's vacuum port and the curved one that matches the filter. Odds are, there's a clog in there and your Scooba knows it. Rinse the two oval ports as well, as thoroughly as you can.

Also, try priming the pump with water. The iRobot website shows how to do this under the Scooba troubleshooting section.

Then run the unit with water and vinegar (in place of the Clorox Cleaning Solution) if possible.

I cant open my scooba

If you haven't used the scooba before or if it has been a long time, the pump may need to be primed.  Go to irobot and do a search for how to do this.  I also had difficulty opening my scooba.  Press down with the palm of your hand on the back silver plate as you push down on the silver release handle.  This worked for me.

IRobot 5800 Scooba Vacuum dirt not going into the fliter basket

You can try rinsing the tank very thoroughly with warm water. Be very sure that you rinse the four ports on the underside of the tank (one round, two oval, one curved like Scooba's filter) very thoroughly, because all the dirt and dirty water moves through those openings and can clog things up.

Scooba does not release water

I tried the straw on the solution valve. Worked last time, but no luck this time. I ended up using a can of compressed air on the solution outlets on the bottom of the unit (in the trough in front of the brush).

Scooba doesn't put watter. Pump not working?

I calledthe company and they told me to forcefully flush warm water repeatedly through the valve that is just  above  the brush release button the the mechanical part  of the scooba.  It may take 20 or 30 flushes (I used a turkey baster, iRobot suggested a children's nasal syringe) and "Scooby" is  running great.
