Some of the newer light bulbs do not work well. Unplug the unit and look in the actual socket. There is a copper lead, pull it up a little and try it. If not then you can replace the sockets themselves. Although it may be the logic board too. Make sure and get a surge protector on this nit 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB

Wayne Dalton DoorMaster Model BDOr 2000 door will close but then goes back up immediately. How do I adjust it. Nothing is blocking the closure?

The Wayne Dalton Doormaster design is a mess. I've had two of them in my house for 10 years, with numerous repeat problems.

What you are experiencing is a need to recalibrate the door, but the underlying cause is that a linear potentiometer becomes non-linear, and the calibration drifts. Once this starts happening, it will continue to be a problem until you buy a new potentiometer, or clean the one you have. If you are handy, it isn't too hard to do.

Two other Doormaster problems are when the DC electric motor carbon brushes wear sand clog up the commutator, causing the motor not to run. Another problem can be corrosion on the back of the circuit board that causes erratic operation, but can be fixed by scraping the corrosion off the board.

If anyone still is having any of these problems, post here and I'll do a detailed writeup on these fixes.

I have an old Wayne Dalton Doormaster Garage Door opener. It is definitely quirky, but when it stopped working this last week I called the Garage Door Guy to come and take a look at it. When he slid off...

Hi njitrrr,

Geez, that's a tough one! Other than getting a thick piece of Lexan and carving one out yourself....

There is a company, Ridout Plastics, that make some really tough plastic epoxies. I've used them and they are tough. As for gears, hmmm. I found their website and saw that they will fabricate a plastic part for individuals. Rare for a factory.

Here is the website that talks about fabricating parts: http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Plexiglass_Shape_Charges

Also, here's their site with the plastic adhesives: http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Adhesives?gclid=CJuT4pDOtKgCFUMUKgodNFTsDA

WeldOn #40 sounds likely. It might be worth a try to contact them about making a gear for you. Beats the alternative!

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

I have a chamberlain liftmaster formula 1 garage door opener I could able to open the garage door using the remote. How ever I was not able to close it using the inside main panel big white color button....

Check to make sure the sensors in the doorway are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

How do I reset my garage door opener. It is a Coromaster 2000 motor. The closing and opening setting are out and the motor only stops due to resistance.

The Coromaster 2000 does not operate off limit switches. It has a quarter-revolution optical pulse counter. To re-program the open and close limits do the following: Ensure that the door is open at least a couple of feet. Press the reset button once or twice Short out pushbutton and common and hold until close limit and then release. Door should stop at your new close limit. Wait 5 seconds. Short out pushbutton and common and door will open. Hold the short until open limit and then release. Limits should now be set.

Wayne Dalton DoorMaster Model BDOR-2000/BIRW-2000

Check the contact at the bottom of the socket and (with the unit unplugged) lift (or pull) it up to make contact with the bulb easier or tighten the bulb a bit more than normal.

Does the light ever come on?

Door opener activates itself--don't know how to correct it.

Anytime a door opens and/or closes by itself I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.

The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the self operation stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

HOPE THIS HELPS
