    The OS is Vista

Acer 5630 desktop, sometimes the icons at the left side of the monitor won't show up,then some of the gadgets at sidebar are irretrievable, when i open up my computer for internet connections there are so many pop up windows coming out that internet connections were already a futile attempt,i admit it that i am computer illiterate but somehow if i have a manual to understand some computer symbols it will not be doubly hard than pressing keys which would only complicate things which could have been easy to operate.

I will tell you a trade secret. IT techs take each problem systematically. First you need to isolate the problem. What i would do is remove video card , un plug hard drive, and cd rom. With your computer laying on its side and you grounded (make sure you touch something inside the frame work of the computer case) or using a wrist grounding strap. Now check these items by seeing if they are seated in proper. First the ram. apply gentle pressure on each end if you hear a click that particular ram slot did not have the ram card properly seated. (unseated ram can cause all kinds of problems) check all the ram slots make sure they are in secure.Check your cpu and see if a strap or arm has come loose. Visually check and also feel. Now check your connections to your motherboard from your power supply (psu) push down gently on the connectors. Also visually inspect to see if there is dust or maybe even a hot spot. ( Hot spots usually make the plastic casing turn a brownish color or faded color)Asuming that you have a hard wired VGA port on your mother board take the connector from your monitor and disconnect it. Now reconect it and make sure that the connection pug is flush and there is little movement. If you find alot of movement in your VGA plug you could have a break in the connectors to the that you checked all of your internal componets. Turn your computer on leave the side off your computer case but dont touch anything inside while its on. Watch the screen and listen for Bios beep codes. There will be a few error beeps because all your hardware is not hooked up.If your bios data comes up on the screen you have isolated the problem and fixed it. Try this and let me know.. I will be standing by.

HELP! Acer T180 is possessed!

Have you Googled the beep codes? This is most likely your solution. You should do the RAM test on your system.

Blue Screen Of Death

  • Remove all USB attached devices.
  • You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose safe mode). Start > Search type System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates.
  • Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode.
  • Test one DIMM at time. One slot at a time. To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC. Opening case. Remove all RAM. Use static precautions!
  • Re-install Windows. Clean install works best. All data will be lost.
  • Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Computer does not recognize the monitor. put a video card in and it does not work either is there jumpers on the motherboard that needs to be disabled acer aspire t180

Has it ever recognized this monitor? Are you sure the problem is the video and not the monitor? Do you get anything when you plug it in? Do you see the bios information etc. If so, try the machine in safe mode with simple VGA drivers. Safe mode is F8 when windows is first booting up. If that works then manually reset the resolution, refresh rate, whatever to match the monitor.

Input not support, Acer V193w

if the monitor is DVI conencted to PCI card, the computer will not see the monitor, on boot up, only in the Windows mode.
replace the DVI connecting with a VGA connection on the monitor, if there is no VGA connection on the monitor then you need to get a VGA monitor and connect that to theVGA port on the motherboard connector at the rear of the computer.

Boot sequence / bios password issues with Acer Aspire 5100

Hoping you are using some version of windows OS. Go to safe mode... press the power button to boot and while booting keep pressing F8 which will allow you to go to safe mode and reboot the machine if you are able to sucessfully able to go to safe mode. Now boot to normal mode as usual boot. If you still notice BSOD(blue screen of death) then once more go to safe mode and uninstall the new softwares if you have installed any on your laptop recently like graphics device driver or audio driver so on.... if you are not sure of new softwares installed.. use system restore method in safe mode to restore the system to older date it should resolve your problem. system restore tool of windows will be in start-> program -> accesories-> system tools-> system restore.

Computer beeps and screen is blank

The computer beeps when some components are missing. Check all the connections.

Please try to press F8 at the boot, and choose Safe mode. You will see then if it is the hard drive the problem.

If you have more information after the T180 for the model number, can you indicate it please. You might have to update the BIOS.

Acer computer t180 boot up problem

First, remove all the peripherals and addiotnal hardware attached to the computer except the mouse, keyboard and the monitor and try booting the PC to the Safe Mode.

You can press and hold the F8 key after the Acer logo when the PC boots to access Safe Mode.

If you are able to boot to Safe Mode you can perform a System Restore to see if it resolves the issue.

To perform System Restore:

Click the Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click System Restore

If the issue still persists, you can open the computer case if you are comfortable with that. After that we need to clear the CMOS Battery and try accessing the BIOS.

Final resolution would be a One Button Recovery. It will delete all the data from the C drive of the computer. So, you may have to backup the data from the hard drive connecting it another working computer if you don't have a backup with you.

You can also use the Recovery CDs to perform a Recovery, if you have created them.

Hope this works!

If you mean your personal logon, start in safe mode F8 and choose start in safe mode. Let windows boot up into administrator mode so that you can go to your account in the users menu and delete the password. If you mean the bios password the Acer normally use six zero's.
