Question about Cobra 22 CHANNEL 2-WAY RADIOS
I've had these radios for a couple years and in some areas the squelch just screeches horribly. Since it does not use a manual knob for adjustment, I don't know ho to adjust it's sensitivity. Any suggestions?
You are right there is no adjustment. You can however turn the squelch off and this maybe what is happening to you.
To turn the squelch off you press and hold the button that is just below the push-to-talk button for at least 5 seconds.
To turn the squelch back on, you either press (less than 5 sec.) and the same button or change channels.
When talking with a specific party or group, you should use the tone coded squelch (CTCSS) and that will mitigate the noise if you are not already doing that.

The CTCSS and DCS when activated will do nothing for the squelch if it is turned on, you will still hear the squelch as I just tried it, I am having issues however with one radio not always ringing thru when the call button is pressed from another radio, the other two radio receive the call but this one is just silent.
