Question about Computers & Internet
My gateway W350A(T-Model) seems to have a booting and loading problem, when I start it up absolutely nothing happens but the light coming on. The screen is completely blank, all that is heard is the fan and by fifteen minutes of waiting the laptop would shut down. Unfortunately, I can't pay for any repairing utensils for this problem, considering I'm just a young person who's parents are in a hard spot. I am answering from a iBook G4, can anyone offer me price free supports to fix my problem? Also, prior to this, the BSOD error has occured several times, could that be the problem?
My nephew's W350A had the same issue last year. It turned out that the CPU was loose in its socket and not allowing the POST cycle to run. You will need to remove the back cover and the bracket that goes across the CPU. Remove the CPU and clean the pins with a little rubbing alcohol, re-install and you should be fine. Remember to aply a little more heat-sink grease across the top of the cpu before putting the bracket back on. This will help keep it running cooler.
