TV Won't power on

We just installed the brand new lamp and the TV was working. We were playing with the settings (contrast, tint, etc) and the tv all of a sudden froze up and shut down. When we try to turn it back on, the green timer button blinks a couples times (u can hear clicking in the back of the tv) and then the green timer button flashes 3-4 times, then the tv shuts down. What do you think the problem is now?

I can't get the color right. What are the perfect setting?

Hello!
Have you tried preset picture modes off TV's "picture" menu or "picture" on remote control unit. Most modern sets have "preset" modes: normal, vivid, natural, movie, sports, user, etc. Try to toggle between those modes. may be the one of those will look right for you. Make sure: "user" mode is for custo adjustments. You must choose desired settings: "picture(contrast)", "brightness", "color", "tint", "sharpness", "color temperature". May also have: DNR(dynamic noise reduction", "black level expansion", etc. I'd try presets, first and make notice of those settings. If that is, still not right to you, you may be able to tweak "user" mode the way you like it, based on info from other modes. If that won't help, you may have an issue with your TV.
good luck,
thanks,
Alex.

Menu language has been changed need to nget it back to english

Try this... with the TV off, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. Maybe a light blinks or a sound, but it might reset the TV to factory settings. BUT that will also reset ALL the settings to factory, so any changes to brightness/contrast, color, tint, channels (on the TV only), equalizer, etc. will be reset. Most newer TV's have this feature.

What are the best video settings for a Hitachi (46GX01B), 46 inch, rear Projection TV (from 2001) in regard to: contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness, etc. The setting level goes from 1% to 100%....

The best setting are the ones you prefer the most.In general most sets are optimized for 50% on color and tint and usually 70% or more for bright and contrast.

Colorimetre HCFR software
AVC HD 709 calibration disk
Spyder2 colorimeter (I know most prefer the Eye-One meters, but the Spyder2 was available from my job at no cost)

Here are the settings:

PS3 Blu-Ray player

Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (important!!! NOT RGB output)
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI): On (this TV can reproduce video at 48hz for accurate 2:2 pulldown)
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super White (HDMI): On (not sure if this matters)

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.

Green tint I can't seem to fix

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.

By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.
