Re: GameCube Problems

If this problem occurs for every game you try, every time, then it is most likely a hardware failure, and you will indeed need to contact Nintendo for repair information. If it's only certain games, or only some of the time, then make sure the controllers and memory card(s) are securely inserted, the game disc is clean, the laser lens that reads the disc is clean, and that the disc area is free of dust and dirt.

My gamecube messed up after trying to do a glitch on metroid prime i saw on youtube and it worked but when i went to save the gamecube make A click noise and then the black screen of death appeared saying...

Wait it could or might just be karma then. Never put cheat devices in your video game consoles because it can corrupt the system and mess up the console too. Play the games fair and square like I do because they still work and the machine doesn't want people to cheat either thats why.

My gamecube freezes in the middle of a game and says an error has occured, it tells me to check the gamecube manual but i don't have one! PLEASE HELP!

  • An Error has occurred:
If you are getting the specific message, "An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions." This means there may be an internal problem with the system.
    1. Check Individual Game Disc problems or Multiple Game Disc problems (depending upon how many games exhibit the problem) to see if the cause of the message is a dirty or damaged disc.
    2. If the disc appears fine or works properly in another system, this means there is an internal problem with the system. A repair will need to be set up. Please use our convenient repair options.

Every time I put a game in it will play for a good while and then all of sudden it will say, problems reading disc check owners manual, or something like that.

This is not nessesarily a solve issue, however it worked with mine, I had the same issues when playing games. I would be in the middle of gameplay, and the the error screen would pop up and say that the disc coudnt be read, All I did to fix the issue was open the unit, blow the dust off the disc drive motor and attatched ****, then I used some 3 in one oil on all the motors inside the system. So far it hasnt messed up (FINGERS CROSSED) I hope this helps.....I noticed with my gamecube that it would quit spinning the game, and after I made it past the gameplay loaded in memory it would error out because it needed to spin the disc and load more programing into memory.....if your disc dont spin you are guarenteed a disc read error

Wii "Error has occured, eject game disc." for one CLEAN game

Nintendo is AWESOME about warranties. If you keep pushing the subject they will replace your unit free of charge. The drive mechanism is going out. It just so happens you haven't noticed it on any other game, it will happen with other games however.

    Console problem

I'm having the same issue. Doesn't matter what game disk is in, after a little while of playing, the screen goes black with the message that disk can not be read. Eject disk and power off, then power back on and re insert disk. No error code is given. I just bought this console yesterday and this error has happened probably 10 times already. Wanted to get online and see if this was a common wii problem or I just possible got a bad one.

    An error has occured

It sounds like the error you would get if you put in a Mini-DVD of something that isn't a GameCube disc... it sounds like you may need to send the machine to Nintendo to check for you... alternatively, you could buy a GameCube ScrewDriver + ScrewBit ( and open the machine up... have a look at this google video: on how to dismantle a GameCube... you should just try take the top half off, and then put it back on.. it SHOULD fix it, if nothing has burned or anything.. I just have no idea how it could have happened...
