Question about Olympus Camedia C-60 Zoom Digital Camera

Computer not recognizing camera

My new laptop doesn't recognize my camera. I've got Windows XP professional, and am trying to download pictures like I can on my desktop. No menu pops up, and I can't get any programs to import the pictures.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I went from XP to windows 7 64 bit and now my cyber-shot camera is not recognized when I try to download pictures. Sony couldn't figure it out.

If you connect CyberShot Camera from a USB Cable, check the cable once. If that doesn't solve the problem, Choose Mass storage option from the Camera Menu when prompted. I think it should work.

Hello there.

Please click here for information on your camera with Windows Vista: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=OSCompatibilitySupportAct&keycode=vistadr&fcategoryid=221&modelid=8775

If you use Windows XP Home or Professional then click here http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=OSCompatibilitySupportAct&keycode=windr&fcategoryid=221&modelid=8775 and click on the "Home,Professional" link.

This will setup the camera for either version of Windows, for your information Vista doesn't need additional software but Windows XP does.

Hope this helps.

Listen, once your computer recognizes your camera, using windows explorer you can go into the innards of your camera and locate the pictures and simply copy them to any spot you want on your hard drive. U do not need any software to do that!

Windows doesn's recognize camera, device manager says no driver

Hi -

Have you tried another USB port? Sometimes, they can act goofy.
Also be sure your anti-virus isn't blocking any part of the installation.

Here is a link to the Samsung troubleshooting guide for your camera.
You can probably download the most recent driver from that website as well.
Perhaps they have a better or newer version than what came prepackaged
with the camera (just because a camera is a new purchase does not mean
the software it came with is the most updated).

I run WinXP home edition, so I am not familiar if there are any differences in the professional version regarding software installation....

Good luck!

Same thing happened to my Powersgot SD450. I'll tell you what the Best Buy Geek Squad guy told me: If it's off warranty, the repair will be about as much as a new camera. But, for $20, you can buy a USB memory card reader that will still read the card. I bought the card reader. It works great.
