Question about HP Compaq Presario SR1420nx (SR1420NXPS69AA) PC Desktop
I Have purchaced 2 1 gb ddr333 2700 ram mem cards off of ebay, and my computer keeps going to a screen allowing me to use safemode, normal mode, etc., but it wont let me get past that stage - keeps saying that windows was unsuccessful in booting. I am currently operating useing my old 512mb ram, but i would like to upgrade. does this situation mean that the ram i purchased was bad, or do i simply need to do somethig inside of windows to allow this? - Zack S. Reed
Unfortunately, chances are very high that whoever sold you the ram off e-bay relabeled slower ram that your bois doesn't recognize. If the seller has no warranty on his goods, you are stuck.
If you want to upgrade your ram, your best bet is to go ahead and pay the full price from a reputable dealer like tigerdirect, mwave, etc.
