New Memory wont work

I Have purchaced 2 1 gb ddr333 2700 ram mem cards off of ebay, and my computer keeps going to a screen allowing me to use safemode, normal mode, etc., but it wont let me get past that stage - keeps saying that windows was unsuccessful in booting. I am currently operating useing my old 512mb ram, but i would like to upgrade. does this situation mean that the ram i purchased was bad, or do i simply need to do somethig inside of windows to allow this? - Zack S. Unfortunately, chances are very high that whoever sold you the ram off e-bay relabeled slower ram that your bois doesn't recognize. If the seller has no warranty on his goods, you are stuck.

If you want to upgrade your ram, your best bet is to go ahead and pay the full price from a reputable dealer like tigerdirect, mwave, etc.

Dear all we have a compaq dc7700 which does not start anymore. It gives blank screen, lfront led is red flashing and beeps 5 times. Can you tell me what is going on with this system ? Best regards

5 beeps for an AMI BIOS, which I think you have, means you have a processor error, or, in other words, the CPU.
Just to be sure, disconnect everything BUT the video, CPU, and memory. See if the result is the same.

Hi,
Looks like one of the 2gb mem card you bought and installed is defective.
Check each one and clean the gold terminals using a pencil rubber eraer, clean it an install it again, move it to side to side just to perfectly fit the contacts.
If both mem card is working the problem would be the memory socket terminal, either it is dirty or the pin connector is burned.
If one is not working, return the mem card and have them replace it.

Hope FixYa helps you out!

I have an ET1161-05- can it be upgraded to hold more memory and run faster?

Hi.
Yes, your computer came with 2 gig's of ram in the form of 2 1gig modules of ddr2 ram.

There are 4 slots for memory all together, and each slot can hold 2 gig memory chips in each one, for a total of 8 gig's of ram!

That would cause a serious performance improvement for you.

It also came with a 160 gb hard drive, so if you want to, you can get as larger drive as well.

As far as processors, a dual core, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Brisbane 2.9GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W processor will fit in with absolutely no bios updates required, so all you would have to do is take the old processor out, put the new one in, and turn the computer on.
It will recognize the new processor automatically, and will work right away!

This will have a significant performance boost, possibly doubling the total speed of your computer.

I hope this helps you out, and have a good day !

New ps1 mem card wont formaton ps2...

I have read that some manufacture PS1 memory cards will not work properly on the PS2. I would suggest trying another PS2 to see if it's a problem with your specific PS2. If the memory card doesn't pop up on the browser screen of another PS2, it could be defective or incompatible. If it does work on another PS2, it could be something weird going on with your memory card slot on your PS2.

Ram install problem

with RAM there can be a few problems
1) the frequency of ram which *********** board supports might be less than the freq at which the ram you are puttin works, hence in this case RAM wont work on this mother board and ull have to get the RAM replaced
2) some motherboards do not support a 2 x 1 GB RAM where as they might support a 1 X 2 RAM (if you do have 2 mem slots for ram)
and then there is the most trivial problem of the slot not being clean or arm not being put properly, i can think of ne other reason for the ram not working properly..

cheers
