No power on will shutdown

Hello

First of all press ALT+CTRL+DEL and start Task Manager, there is probably some application (or other process) that is not reponding. You can kill them to let the shutdown continue, and know what is causing the problem and maybe find an update for it.

Also this means that your computer has not been rebooted properly since the installation of important system updates. If you have "Automatic Updates" scheduled on your machine, these updates could have downloaded and installed without your knowledge. To fix this issue, let the updates finish installing, reboot and then shut down your computer as normal.

Click "Start."

Click "Windows Update." Click "Install Updates" to begin the installation of any updates that have been downloaded to your Compaq Presario. When the "Restart Now" button becomes available, click it once. Your Compaq Presario will shut down Windows, finish installing the updates and then reboot your computer.

Click "Shut Down." Because the updates have finished installing and have been installed properly, your Compaq Presario will now shut down normally and will not immediately boot back up.

Whenever I log on, it stops on a screen that says 3 out of 3 updates loading-o%, then it shuts down, and turns back on...it will do this over and over until you finally shut it down.

You appear to have a Windows Update that is corrupt and not finishing the installation of the update.

Depending on the version of Windows, in your Windows Update screen should be an option to look at past updates.

You need to remove one update at a time until the screen showing an update in progress dosn't reappear.

Then I would attempt to redownload the updates via Windows update again.

updates can be slow, and lead to more updates sometimes.you should goto windows update, let it search for important updates then install them.even if it takes a while, once you do that it should be fine.and configure updates to auto download but ask to install.

It Says "Installing Updates" but never shuts down

If you are updating windows xp and it says installing updates when you are shutting down your computer, you should let it finish, even if it tales overnight. depenind on how many updates you have, better to go to the updates web site and do it from there. after they have installed then you should be able to do a restart on your computer and compleate. Any thing ells you are best off contacting MicroSoft

Acer5920 stuck in configuring updates.

This is generally caused by bad blocks in the Master Boot Record(Table). The drive itself is probably not salvagable. You'll need a reputable reapir person to slave your drive to another system to get the data off.

Good Luck

Erratic behavior with Acer Aspire 9300

How about just reinstalling the OS and seeing what happens. If you are running Vista it is most likely just a bad original install. You should have installation discs supplied and you should have been encouraged to make your own reinstall disc when you first run the machine. If you did not then check your handbook to find out how to do it. It will make a disc from the ghost partition on the hard drive. use this to reinstall and take drivers from one of the original discs supplied with machine

A box come to install updates and when i push the install and it say installing updates but when it finishes it says some updates could be not be installed security updates for window XP then it shows...

One last thing :
turn off any ad-removal programs, Web accelerators, anti-spyware, and antivirus programs before you try to access the Microsoft Update site. These programs can cause script errors. Be sure to turn them back on once you’ve finished your update.

Help!

You might have connected to interent and your windows updates are automatically downloaded. You need to install those updates. Actually it did not shut but power goes off may be it was on stand by mode. Now shut down (press Alt+F4) your laptop from menu. Choose Install Updates and Shut Down from the drop down list.
Now it will install updates and after completion it will automatically shut down your laptop. Hope it works
