Paper not feeding correctly

My Canon Pixma mb220 printer is not feeding the paper in smoothly- as soon as it starts, it 'grabs' the paper and pulls it to the right so it is misaligned and won't feed in correctly. It had been working well. Haven't used it for awhile because out of ink. Have replaced both ink cartridges and now doesn't feed correctly.

thanx for this - but before reading this solution, put card thru printer, as suggested elsewhere on site - it dislodged small folded paper -- so correct diagnosis!

Crooked feeder paper

Sounds like the rubber rollers that grab the paper are dirty, and one is not grabbing well. Clean them, and your paper will probably feed correctly.

I cant get it to grab the paper...have tried everything

Try cleaning the paper pick-up mechanisms with isopropil alcohol, Clean all the paper feed wheels in the paper path as well. These become polished and smooth with time and do not grip the paper as they should.

Paper not feeding properly, sometimes it goes through crooked and sometimes it isn't grabbed and put through printer

The little wheels that 'grab' the paper sometimes become too smooth and will simply slip on paper. There is wheel rejuvenator you might find at a local stationary store or you might want to try an alcohol soaked q-tip on the wheels.

When paper feeds it twists and unable to print

How old is your printer? What tends to happen with most rollers is that the rollers that grab the paper, lose their stickiness after much use. These rollers tend to get kind of smooth. What you need to do is grab an eraser, the kind we used to use in school and try and erase all around the roller until it feels "rougher." This will aid in helping to feed the paper without any problems. Good luck.

Canon ip90 printer wont grab paper

The most likely culprit is that the rollers that pull the paper are dirty. Use the steps below to clean the rollers.

If paper does not feed correctly, perform the following to clean the paper feed rollers:
1) Confirm that the printer is powered on.
2) Remove any paper from the printer.
3) Press and hold the <Resume/Cancel> button.
4) Release the <Resume/Cancel> button after the Power lamp blinks three times.

Note: The Power lamp will blink and the paper feed roller starts cleaning itself by revolving.
5) When the Power lamp lights in green, repeat Steps 3 and 4 up to two additional times. (Please wait approx. 30 seconds for paper feed roller cleaning to complete.)
6) To confirm whether cleaning has been performed properly, set a blank sheet of plain paper (8 1/2 x 11 Letter size) in the sheet feeder or cassette.
7) Press and hold the <Resume/Cancel> button and release it when the Power lamp blinks three times. (The paper set in the printer is picked up and fed.)
8) Repeat the process as necessary
