Question about Ryobi 15" Electric Factory Reconditioned Trimmer (ZRRY41002) - Factory Reconditioned
The shaft on my strimmer is getting so hot the stickers are burning off after about 15 minutes of work. Is this ok? Should I oil the shaft some how. The strimmer is about 3 years old I think. Its not happened before this year
I could not find the exact product in the list of choices this is my best guess. It's a gas powered weed wacker

Ryobi trimmers I have had use a 32:1 oil mix. Just pick up a little bottle of Ryobi 2-cycle oil and read it to see that it will give a 32:1 mix in a gallon of gas. Pour it into a gallon of gas, and maybe a little fuel stabilizer too, shake it up and you should be good for the season.

I have one of these and I have to admit they are a bit of a bug*er to start. Following the instructions though on the sheet for trying to start it eventually should kick it off and then you should be away. I start mine by alternating between no choke and the half choke with about half a dozen pulls each. generally pull with the throttle held but try a few with it off every now and again. If you get to 10 mins without success, put it down, have a drink and a rest and go back in 30 mins and try again.
I wouldnt have thought a straight petrol mix would do it any harm though, if you had over mixed with oil then that could have been a differnt story.

The lower flex shaft should cost around $40, unless you order it online and have to pay shipping. You should be able to get one from your local MTD dealer. (Ryobi is owned by MTD)
