Question about Craftsman 24 Hp 48" Deck Yard Tractor
Have Craftsman yard tractor it starts and stays running, as long as I keep my foot on the brake. Once I lift my foot of the brake it dies, like running out of gas. This also happens when I try to engage the blades.
Is there some tensioner or pulley I should be looking for that is causing the problem? I looked underneath while my wife pumped the brake pedal and moved the blade engage thing but didn't see obvious breaks or anything.
Lads thanks for all the replies , it was the switch under the seat was ceased , i dismantled it ,wd 40 and reassembled it and now my problem is fixed . my mc cullagh ride on 42 , started , but as soon as i decompressed the brake whilst in gear it just knocked off , or if i engaged the pto the same thing happened .
now working fine . thank you guys

I have a 2002 craftsman that did the same thing. The problem was the connection from the chassis harness to the motor harness. It would close the plunger on the Carb cause it didn't think the driver was there.
