Question about Computers & Internet

I ran into a emachine desktop 3 days ago, and reinstalled operating system, everything was working fine, however when i shut down and booted the next day, computer continued to reboot itself after passing the Emachines logo and xp logo it restarts itself without any command, this pc was left on for almost 2 years without being turned off, is it the cmos battery or could it be something a bit more serious?

There is usually a jumper with three pins beside the cmoss battery just move the jumper to the last two pins for 5 seconds and put it back that will reset your bios that may help

sounds like your windows installation took a hit, try booting from the windows cd into the repair console and do a chkdsk /F /R; a fixboot and an fixmbr command. if ths doesn't work, try the repair option. You can also try to boot from a hirens boot disk and try the tools that come with that.

Hey there my e machine wont boot up the bios it powers everything but nothing happens help me? i was in the middle of restore and it powered off

I think you need a repair or to reinstall the Operating System.
So, you need your OS disk and try to repair it first, it will apear that option when you boot it up. If that doest work format and reinstal or make an over instalation (skip the format) and you should be fine.
Good luck.

Hello, i have a western digital 500gb my book hard drive. had a problem with pc yesterday. when booted up, lots of the programs started opening themselves and i had difficulty shuting it down. turned off...

You have experienced a system emergency shutdown. In otherwords, your computer crashed. You can:
1: reinstall your operating system.
2: use a OS recovery disk to reboot the system.
3: send the computer to a data recovery specialist.
4: return the computer if the warranty is still valid.

Good Luck!

T1100 emachine - restarts at windows logon screen

Have you made any hardware/software changes lately? If answer is no, reboot the pc and hit F8 a couple times. This will give you a list of options. Use your arrows and highlight last known good configuration and hit enter. See if your pc boots ok. If you don't have that option or it doesn't boot ok, Repeat the process to get the list. Use the arrow keys to higlight Safe Mode and hit enter. Your pc should boot to safe mode. Click on Start>progams>accessories>system tools>system restore. Choose a safe date about 3 days ago and do a restore. Wait until it's done completely! and see if it's working ok. If this fixed your problem please rate as fixed. If you need more help with this just add a comment and I'll be glad to help out. Thanks.

Restore discs

put the first CD in the Tray, then shut down the computer. Next boot up, and press F9 or whichever option is system recovery. Now select recover form CD. This should work, otherwise it will automatically, start the recovery on boot up.
