Question about Panasonic PT-51HX41 51" Rear Projection Television
Heat or not using the right replacement IC if it keeps burning out. If it is the first time it happened, the heat sink compound dries up, and then the heat transfer goes down and the IC overheats. If the IC is burning out a short time after you replace it, you are probably using a cheapo aftermarket type or a factory reject IC. You need to use an original replacement, not just one with the same numbers because all IC's are not alike, even with the same numbers. You also need to put new heat sink compound paste on the back of the new IC's before you replace them.
