I cannot download any free powerpoint templates, it keeps saying block by your security zone policy...HELP!

Sounds like dad installed a proxy filter that has very strict rules pertaining to downloading items. Have your dad check to make sure that the files such as .ppt are not blocked for downloading. He should be able to set what files can be downloaded or what type. It sounds as if he set it up to stop people from downloading files that usually have viruses embedded in them. Smart move but very restrictive.

I want to unblock badoo in my system

Knowing how to block and unblock sites in your operating system can come in very handy, mostly if you have children you want to protect from accessing inappropriate content. Regardless of the reason why you would like to block and unblock sites, being able to perform this task will ultimately help you take control of your network and protect your computer from websites you consider useless or potentially harmful. Fortunately, blocking and unblocking sites is a simple task you can perform swiftly through your Web browser's Internet Options setting.

Launch your Internet Explorer browser and select the "Tools" option, which is displayed on the upper right corner of the browser's window. Click on the "Internet Options" selection displayed at the bottom of the drop-down menu and then select the "Security" tab. Select the red icon titled "Restricted Sites," which is displayed in the box below where it says "Select a zone to view or change security settings." Click the "Sites" tab featured below the "Restricted Sites" icon you just clicked on. Type the URL address of the site you would like to block in the text field displayed below where it says "Add this website to the zone:" and then click the "Add" tab to save the changes (you may block an indefinite number of sites). If you wish to unblock any of the sites you have blocked, simply go back to the "Restricted Sites" menu, click on the site you would like to unblock, which will be displayed below where it says "Websites:" and click on the "Remove" tab. use security zones in Internet Explorer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174360 b> Using Firefox Launch your Firefox Web browser and open the support page for Mozilla Firefox (see Below). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=parental+control&cat=all In this Web page you will be able to access an array of filtering add-ons you can utilize with Firefox to block and unblock any sites you want. Look through the various filtering add-ons available on the Mozilla Firefox support page and click on the option you would like to use to block and unblock sites. Keep in mind that some of the filtering add-ons require a payment and some don't. Click on the prompt that says "Continue to Download" or "Add to Firefox." The prompt that will be displayed to you will ultimately depend on the filtering add-on you chose; however, you will have to click on either options to download the add-on. Select the tab that says "Install Now," which will be displayed on a pop-up window. You may want to consider downloading the the FoxFilter add-on because it has the reputation of being prolific and it is free to use. Restart your Firefox Web browser once you are prompted to do so. This will occur after the installation process has finished. Once Firefox restarts, the Firefox filtering add-on you chose will be enabled and you will be able to block and unblock sites through the add-on.

HI,

You shall do the same with MPF. Create a regex filter to identify the types of files you would like to block,

e.g. 1
2
3
4
5 regex archive-type1 ".*\.([Zz][Ii][Pp]'[Tt][Aa][Rr]'[Tt][Gg][Zz]) HTTP/1.[01]"
regex archive-type2 ".*\.([Tt][Aa][Rr].([Gg][Zz]'[Bb][Zz]2)'7[Zz]) HTTP/1.[01]"
regex doc-type1 ".*\.([Dd][Oo][Cc]'[Xx][Ll][Ss]'([Pp]){2}[Tt]) HTTP/1.[01]"
regex doc-type2 ".*\.([Pp][Dd][Ff]'[Oo][Dd][Tt]) HTTP/1.[01]"
regex exe-type1 ".*\.([Ee][Xx][Ee]'[Vv][Bb][Ss]'[Vv][Bb][Aa]) HTTP/1.[01]"
Create regex for Content-Type Application/*

1
2 regex application-header "application/*"
regex content-type "Content-Type"
Classify regex that matches the extension types
class-map type regex match-any ext-types
match regex doc-type1
match regex doc-type2
match regex archive-type2
match regex archive-type1
match regex exe-type1

Capture the http response that contains content-type and application/* header
2
class-map type inspect http match-all http-header-response
match response header regex content-type regex application-header
Capture http request packet that matches the class ext-types
1
2 class-map type inspect http match-all http-request
match request uri regex class ext-types

HTTP is the interesting traffic
1
2
3
4 access-list http-traffic extended permit tcp any any eq www
access-list http-traffic extended permit tcp any any eq 8080
class-map http-traffic-class
match access-list http-traffi

Create policy to prevent download attempt via http request
1
2
3
4
5
6
7 policy-map type inspect http block-http-download
parameters
protocol-violation action drop-connection log
class http-header-response
drop-connection log
class http-request
reset log

Apply policy on the interesting traffic
1
2
3 policy-map inside-http
class http-traffic-class
inspect http block-http-download Apply the policy onto interface to take effect
1 service-policy inside-http interface inside
Hope this would help.

Cant call out or in off of ny black berry 8520

Go to your Options : Security >> Security Options (the same page where you can enable/disable passwords) & scroll to the bottom. If there's an IT policy attached, it will be mentioned there. Remove the IT policy using these instructions

Procedure
Step 1 : Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you are unsure, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the Desktop Manager and start again. If you don't have the CD that came with your Blackberry, the Software can be downloaded here.

Step 2 : Download the file policy.bin and save it in your Blackberry installation directory (C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry).

Step 3 : Wipe your Blackberry, creating a backup if necessary. Select Options/Security/Wipe on the Device. If this option is unavailable, you may have to install the latest software on your Blackberry. You need to Download and install the latest OS for your device. Connect your device, open the Desktop Manager, select Application Loader, and follow the prompts.

Step 4 : Close the Desktop Manager if it is open.

Step 5 : From the Windows XP Start Menu select Run..., and at the prompt type regedit. In the tree on the left hand side, navigate to:

HKEY_Current_Users\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\PolicyManager

Right-Click the Policy Manager Folder and select New/String Value. Name the value Path. Now, Double-Click the Path Subkey and set Value Data to:

C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\policy.bin

Step 6 : Open the Desktop Manager.

Step 7 : Connect the Device. Verification Once complete, the Options/Security screen on your Blackberry should not contain references to an IT Policy, you should now be able to change all settings (including password prompts), and install Third Party Applications.

How do i unblock social websites like facebook and

Try alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera

The easiest way to try if it’s possible bypass blocking of MySpace is to use an alternative web browser such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera. This hack will work if system administrators apply the contents URL filtering and blocking via Internet Explorer settings of Group Policy, which works only on Internet Explorer browsers. Thus, Firefox and Opera are not affected by the restrictions that applied via Group Policy and the access to MySpace or other blocked sites are granted. Group policy

There are two options here Disallowed and Unrestricted

Disallowed means nothing but the OS will run execpt the applications you
specifically allow.

Unrestricted means everything runs except what you specifically block.

If you double click one of these there's a button that says "Set as Defualt"
- By default "Unrestricted" is set. If you've changed this chage it back.

The next step is adding the Hash and blocking it. This is done the same as
you were doing before for the Internet Zone. Right click "Additional Rules"
and select "New Hash Rule." Click Browse and locate a copy of iexplore.exe -
set the security level to "Disallowed".

Apply to the appropriate OU and your done.

If your new to group policy you may want to play arround with the Security
Filtering. Often times a policy as abosolute as blocking IE needs to be
flexible - and moving users in and out a security group is easier than in and
out of an OU. Just depends on your organization.
