There should be a hole in the right side of the top handle that will allow your screwdriver to go in to the carb for the adjustment

I have a Stihl MS 180c, bought it used. I cannot seem to get the quick chain adjustment to work properly. The gear on the bar seems a bit loose and the thumb adjuster will hardly move

there is a post that has broken . it is behind the bar it positions through the bar on the adj screw that is on the thumb adj. it breaks . get 2 .

Always go with that mix for Stihl equipment...

Use 89 octane gas as well. 87 will gum up your carburetor... owning a Stihl is like owning a corvette, the more expensive the item the more costly the repair lol...

Adjustment knob settings on stihl ms 362

Turn the High mixture screw out 1 1/4 turns from fully seated position.
Turn the Low muxture screw out 1 1/2 turns from fully seated position.
Make sure that your fuel mix is 50:1 and that your Air Cleaner and Spark plug are clean.
If your Stihl is still not running correctly, clean your exhaust screen and muffler thoroughly as this can cause performance issues if not clean.

remove and open the muffler and clean the carbon build up from the screen inside

I have three Stihl chainsaws, MS-180C, MS-250C and MS-390, on the 180 and 390 when I start them with full choke, when they start it runs at 3/4 speed and the choke has gone to half open and it stays there....

sounds like a throttle linkage problem
