Clarion drb3475 speakers not working

We just installed a clarion drb3475 cd player into my husband's 98 Jeep Wrangler. There is power to the radio and cd player but no sound at all through the speakers. Not even popping or buzzing. Do we need a different wattage speaker than the factory ones?

SOURCE: radio shows on but no sound to speakers

I flooded my Eclipse and the AMP is under the passenger seat. Might have got wet and ruined it. They are expensive from the dealership ($900). Try a junk yard.

SOURCE: Chevy Tahoe radio wiring problems

I had the same problem and here's what fixed it. By default, I did not connect the blue/white striped remote wire to the harness. Apparently there is an amp somewhere in the vehicle I did not know about. After looking at the factory wiring and the aftermarket harness, I noticed that the remote wire was used and I connected it with the remote wire on the harness and everything came up and worked perfect.

SOURCE: trying to hook up aftermarket radio 98 windstar limited.

If this model has an amplified system, then you may need a different wiring harness. The harness you purchased may be for the non amplified model. Try that, and let us know.

Model-m 255 clarion installed in a pontoon boat. RADIO WAS WORKING JUST FINE, THEN I INSTALLED A (NEW) BATTERY FOR MY BOAT, HOOKED EVERTHING BACK THE SAME WAY. NOW, I HAVE POWER BUT (NO) SOUND...

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?

Need to install cd player in 97 wrangler. need to know which wires are speaker ground power etc.

easiest thing to do is to go to best buy and buy a radio harness kit for $15-20 which will plug ontop of your radio harness so you don't have to splice any wires. the kit is a plug on one end and labeed wires on the other end that will tell you where everything you need is to install a new cd player in such as your power, ground, remote, and speaker wires...much easier to do then to splice and trace each wire.

Just installed my dxz385usb. powered up and got

Check to make sure that the speaker negative and positive leads are not touching. I had the same issue on a 97 maxima, and found the rear speakers so damaged that the (bare) leads on the speaker itself were touching the basket of the speaker, shorting the whole thing out. I disconnected the rear speakers and it started working.

Only door speakers have sound on the cd mode

the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?

Installed a clarion radio it powers up but no music thru speakers

sounds like a short in your wiring to your speakers the best thing to do to check this is run a speaker wire directly to the speaker from the stereo check it that way and see if it works. If that don't work it's the wires on the stereo connection. The speaker wires on most aftermarket stereos are mostly colored 2 of each green, purple, white & grey.
