Re: No sound from cd player

It may be the cords from behind the panel that have come loose or that the cd playing unit itself if gone. If you know how to, take out the head unit and disconnect and reconnect the cables/ cords the unit and see if that helps at all...because of rough road/ driving it could have loosened them enough just to cut out certain things on the unit. Hope this helped liljman1213

Over the bumps sound cuts off

are you listing to cd or everything? do you have amplifiers? i found that when my pre outs were going bad my hole radio would cut out when i hit bumps. also some decks dont do well on bumps with their cd players. maybe try straping all of the wires in the back to a sable source on the car to reduce the stress on the plug ins when hitting bumps.

My jvc kd-g820 will not produce any sound and not accept cd

try to find the reset a little indent on the face or hole when you remove the face and push in for 2 to 3 secs with a pen or paper clip. Then try your cd again. Still dont work check to see if you have another cd jammed inside and your trying to put two cds at once.

Ok for your no sound problem. a bad speaker, short speaker (one 1 speaker shorts out all will not work cause the radio is in a protective mode), factory amp needs to be turned on, bose system or amplified system in car needs to be rewired to bypass factory amp), buy special car harness to make factory amp compatible with aftermarket radio, late ford models the back speakers are crisscrossed.

Next time please give car info and type of system you got in it so I could narrow down the possible problems a little bit easier.

Could be a bad connection in between radio and antenna . Check that first . If that doesn't work try a film strip antenna

Deck is powering off every 5 seconds

If radio stays on at low or no volume and cuts out when turning up you may have your battery backup voltage (yellow wire) droping below 10v under signal load. There is a circuit called backup check in radio that moniters Voltage It may seem ok when measuring without volume but under load it will fluctuate with the audio. Try hooking up Heavy guage Ground and Backup battery wires to prevent voltage loss across wires under load. Also check for any speaker that may not be producing proper sound when and if you can get radio working Disconnect wires to that speaker to see if radio will stay on. Just a couple of many possibilities.
