My Machine Gateway E-4620, ask u how to disable VGA in setup

I'm guessing that is a yes.

1) Computer off, unplug from power. FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions.
Open the computer case, remove the graphics card. Plug the monitor back into the motherboard.

2) Plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute. Turn the computer on. Load the Installation disk for the graphics card. Load the drivers, and user interface. (Nvidia Control Center)
Already installed? Go to Add/Remove programs, and remove it.
Restart the computer. Now when Windows loads put it back on.

3) If asked do you wish to restart - No
Close all windows, go back to the desktop screen, and turn the computer off.

4) Computer unplugged from power; Press the Power On button in, and hold it in. Hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go of the Power On button. Do the same procedure 2 more times.

Removes CMOS Error Codes, and resets BIOS Setup back to the factory settings.

Reinstall the graphics card. Connect the monitor to the card. Close the case. Plug back into power. WAIT 1 minute. Turn the computer on.

I have a dell inspiron 530 with the quad core an everytime i start it up it goes into windows for about 10-15 mins an the monitor screen just goes blank an the keyboard lights go off an when i push the...

it sounds like your motherboard is shutting itself off to protect itself from overheating or some other system failure. you should verify all your fans are running at the correct speed. if it seems like everything is running fine, you can probably turn that off in bios. obviously if there is something wrong with the fans, then you need to replace them. Another options is maybe the processor is getting too hot which is why it's shutting down. open the case and remove the heat sync from the board so you can see the processor. clean the thermal paste off the processor and apply a new generous layer. put the heat sync back on and then try and restart. make sure before you do ANY of this you unplug the computer! good luck and let me know if it works!

At times pc wont turn off with mouse windows shuts down but computer will turn off and on again immed

Try draining the power of the computer first. completely shut it down by pressing poweer button for like 5-7 sec. then unplug power supply from the outlet. then press and hold power button for another 15-20 sec. After that, plug back in the power cord, and turn computer on normally.

Shut down computer and when I went to reboot it it would not turn on. Green light in back is on

Hold Power button in for 10 secs... see if starts... if not, unplug for 5 min and plug back in and try to start. Motherboards can lock up in the BIOS or it could be a power supply. If this solution doesnt work, leave power plug out over night and attempt again. If fails again... it maybe the power supply.

Sony vaio desktop wont turn on

This type scenario normally indicates a power supply failure. Try connecting a known good power supply to your Sony Vaio desktop.

If you do not have a spare power supply, (many people do not) the alternative is to short the the black and green wire on the power lead connecting to the motherboard using a paper clip. This is not a desirable solution and very dangerous, but will help to diagnose the problem. Do not insert any objects while the power supply is energized. Ensure it is unplugged first.

Should the computer start with the green and black wire shorted, the problem is with the power supply. If not, the problem is likely at the motherboard level.

Hope this helps you.

Power light blinking yellow after sitting a while

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS or something), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on).

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS or something), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

When you press your power button your system goes to sleep mode as per your system settings. To awake your system just press any key or 'Awake Key' (if its present on your keyboard), then your system will be back. No need to wait.

Computer won't start up!

Waiting for 10 or 15 or even 30 minutes doesn't make much sense to me. What kind of flash drive or drives do you use? .. USB Thumb/Pen/Flash drive? .. If your flash drives in "My Computer" folder just happen to disappear, does the computer still working or freezed state? When you say your computer does not want to start on AT ALL.' the machine is not running at all or just that the operating system is not booting up?
