Getting a ''CDAC ERR2'' message when trying to use the cd changer for myClarion ARX 7170 unit. Any thoughts on what this means? I can use thetape player and radio but not the CD player. Thanksdon M
Thanks for your reply. I have actually tried to remove the magazines however the eject buttons do not seem to work now. I have disconnected the changer from the amp and reconnected. I then get a series of three clicks and then nothing. Is there a way of manually ejecting the magazines, or disc? I suspect there may a be a stuck disc as I was trying to change from one disc to another using the console in the dash when this happened.

If there is a disk stuck inside, to remove the disk try the following.
Unplug power cord. Plug back power. Press on button and immediately start pressing the eject button on the unit repeatedly. If you succeed in doing this before the unit tries to read initial track on the disk , then the disk should open. If that does not work, and the cause of Err2 is a disk stuck inside , then you may need to disassemble the unit to remove the disk.
Another expert on our site has offered a solution to this issue:
"CDAC ER2 usually means a cd is stuck, not reading properly, or that the magazine is stuck or broken. take out all cds and try it with a known good cd (one that played ok in the past). if that doesn't work, try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in.
if it still doesnt work, take the magazine out, power it up so that you get the "no mag" error, then insert the magazine with no discs and see if it still errors out with ER2. if it does, then the magazine is bad, or the changer is bad..
if it works, then try the known good disc again, if it works now, your magazine was probably stuck, or one of the other cd's isn't liked by the changer. "
Clicking yes its most likely stuck, I personally haven't worked with this unit I'm not sure how you should proceed in this case. Clicking yes its most likely stuck, I personally haven't worked with this unit I'm not sure how you should proceed in this case.

If you are getting power to the unit and you hear it clicking and making a sound when you hit the eject button, the this means that a CD is jammed in the track and while it was changing it got stuck and now causes you to see an ERROR message. What you do is while hitting the eject button, wiggle the CD MAGAZINE up and down and side ways. This will cause the CD to fall into place and your magazine will pop out. KennyV
The E-99 error will come up if you try to play a CD to quickly after turning it on or loading. You will need to disconnect the power (red and yellow wires) from the harness (back of CD player) and leave it disconnected for sixty seconds. If that does not correct the problem then you will need to get the laser inside your unit re-aligned
I have an Alpine CHM 5655RF 6 disc player. It's is lit, but will not play. I think the error message is "DO" and now EO-1. If the unit is lit, would that mean that the fuse is not the problem? I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks, CE
Usually if you disconect the battery leave for few minuets and then reconect it it usually spits the cd out as the unit resets itself saves a few 100$ hope yhis works if notbthe mechanisem in the unit has gone you will have to strip the cd player down to get your cd back
Typically means the CD is stuck, has a reading error, or the magazine is stuck. If jammed, you'll have to clear the stuck CD which may require disassembly. Try removing power and rebooting.
If all else fails, I recommend contacting a local car audio professional, or you may contact Clarion customer support directly by clicking here:

If there is a disc in the changer (I guess it's in the tenth slot),
try removing it, if it doesn't work by 'normal' means and you feel brave,
try shaking the unit a bit. If it doesn't help or you don't feel like banging on it,
you'll have to take it for a repair (they open the unit and extract the disc, they get jammed sometimes).
