Dont think the software is too good with Belkin but the encryption I used was TKIP (Belkin did work sometimes!) I also had a network key. sorry I cant help more-melanie

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 w/ window xp. I show my wireless connection on the signal is excellent but when i click internet explorer its says its connect to internet - i dont have working offline clicked...

Try connecting to another wireless connection... if it connects to another connection and you get to the internet, then it is something with your wireless router or modem. Your PC can "see" a wireless connection, so it is NOT PC hardware.

It sounds like you can connect to the router, but cannot go through the router to get to the internet. Probably a simple issue with your modem or router. Try power cycling the modem, and power cycling the router. Then restart your PC and try connecting again.

If all that fails, try installing Mozilla Firefox and see if that will get out to the internet. It may be a problem with Internet Explorer.

Hi, we have a Belkin wireless router and the 'world' light has disappeared. We have been in contact with our service provider and all seems to be ok on that side. I understand there is a lifetime warranty...

Hi Nenia, could please give us the model number of the wireless router again from Belkin.
Second , are you trying to connect to the wireless router, using a wire or using the wirless only.

Thanks

Belkin n1 router - wireless light not on - laptop has limited connectivity

If could be that you were unable to reset the router properly. You have to make sure that the router is on while pressing and holding the reset button using a paper clip. the reset button is usually found at the back of the router, then you may have to reconfigure the settings again.

you can also manually access the router page for you to change the settings.

Connection

Update the firmware on the router to the latest version available on Belkin's website. Do this over a wired connection, NOT wireless. Also, make sure that your modem is not the issue.

Connecting a new wireless notebook to my existing Belkin 802.11g

All the steps you have mentioned is You are correct..you can connect by configuring the WEP code. but if you have disabled the ssid broadcast then you have to add your access point(FSD7239-4) manually when the wireless discovery fails to detect.
And also refer the manual of the Notebook or wireless adaptor' manual for how to configure the same. (Check the help files of the client configuratin utility if anything installed if not you can refer how to use Wireless Configuration in windows.)

Unable to get connected to Belkin f5d6130 AP

Hi,

You need to be connected using  wired Ethernet (PC's LAN card to Router's Ethernet Port (at the back)).  This is the preferable INITIAL way to configure the router before going wireless. Also it would be to your advantage to initially set your PC (that will be used for configuring the router)  to "Specify an IP address" (static settings) and not "Obtain an IP address automatically."

For a PC connected via UTP networking cable attached to a Belkin F5D6130 AP, the networking settings could be:
IP Address 192.168.2.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 19*2.168.2.1
DNS Server 192.168.2.1
Reboot

Post back results. Good luck and kind regards.

Problem with belkin router

assuming you are connecting wirelessly; you may have to check that the router is allocating ip addresses automatically to your pc's. connect one of your pc's to the router via the RJ45 network cable that was supplied and not wirelessly and type 192.168.2.1 in your internet browser, this will take you into the routers setup menu. Look for a menu refering to 'DHCP' and make sure that this is enabled, then look for the channel number that the router is using (normally 6 or 11) and make a note as if you are still experiencing signal loss, you can get back into the router and change to any channel between these numbers incase you are getting appliances interfering with the signal, save and exit from the router menu. disconnect the cable then go to control panel, network connections and right click on the connection you are using whether it is wired or wireles and click on properties. Look for the line TCP/IP and again click on the line and select properties, then make sure automatically obtain ip address is selected, ok and close window. Restart the pc's and you should have a connection.
